Noticed that he seemed quite comfortable with both feet yesterday. I think he will be a very useful player who will improve with time

I think he might be a little over eager to impress at his new club, but he shows at times he has the quality. Once he settles he'll be a good player for us.

He's not the answer to our defensive problems. The lad is too nice and looks like a fish out of water at times. He was BRUTAL yersterday. We were lucky that his challenge on Doran when he got skinned on the half-way line earlier din't result in a penalty. Comparing him to Wilson's earlier days is pointless.

This thread is mental. He is a good defender. Give him time.

Lustig - How do u base that? What we have seen so far he cannot defend. You expect your centre half to show more dominance. We need a Bobo Balde type centre half. Not another niceee nicee one. We have had too many of them recently

Wow, you decided that after seeing him play like 2/3 times? Most new players need time to blend in the team even Larsson did.

Wolfie do u not remember Edson Braafheid playing left back for us. He has 10 full international Dutch caps. He was BRUTAL. This makes your comment look stupid

Johan - have seen him playing in the Dutch league last year on ESPN as well. Come back in 6 months and we can debate how well he's playing

Its going to take these new signings a while to get used the game in Scotland never mind their teammates. Hopefully he stays fit and puts enough games in to show we he might be capable of.

You're trying to tell a Dutchman who lives in Holland and follows the Eredivisie how good a Dutch player who we acquired from the Eredivisie is. Based on the claim that you "seen him playing" on ESPN(which means a couple of times maximum if lucky). Very Good. :smiley-laughing002:

I hope your correct. I'll be happy to eat my words if he turns out to be a star for us.

Zander - what I've seen so far playing for us he's NOT good enough. I've played the game for 10 years in England & Scotland and don't like what I've seen so far. You can see certain aspects to ones game and the early signs for this lad is he aint tough enough

Van Dijk looks good. There's a reason he was voted as one of the best young players in the Dutch league and POTY for his last Club.

Still young, he'll be a great player for us.
