Doesn't mean he hasn't gave us problems before, he usually does. He's a big fast lump and usually ruffles our feathers a bit.

Was completely bitched tonight but thats expected when he's up against Van Dijk.

If the club knows VVD is going (now or in the Summer), then we need to sign a new centre-back immediately. We're likely to lose both Van Dijk and Denayer by the time the Qualifiers roll around.

Would leave us with O'Connell, Ambrose, Lustig and Mulgrew who could play centre-back.

So according to vi.nl, Sunderland have made an official bid of 8 million pound. (vi.nl ain't some sketchy site btw.)

    He shouldn't go to Sunderland.

I seriously worry about this league title if he leaves right now without a quality replacement coming in.

Sunderland could easily be playing Championship fitba next season. Big Virgil is much better than that level. Should be aiming a lot higher.

I was suprised that he was still here when the season begun. He seemed to want to be desperately off. He came to Celtic and praised everything, how much he loved the fans, how much he adores this place, he was loving that we were on a winning run as in Netherland he only had a winning run of 2 games etc. Even his girlfriend was in love with the club. Suddenly he cheated on her and from there he completely lost interest. He was praising Arsenal, was saying that "I want to play at the highest level and it seems I won't be able to do that with Celtic" not to mention he looked disinterested and some times all he did was waving his hands and yelling.

Lately he is completely the opposite, says he is happy etc. I don't get this guy. Don't really know where his heart is.

He is a fantastic defender, absolute class in my eyes and it is a must that we keep for the rest of the season but to be honest if he wants to go and we won't let him and he starts talking * again then I'd drop him if I was Deila. Every player needs to give their all from now on. Every league game now is important not to mention Inter and Rangers game are massive.

Sunderland would be a horrible move, I think even he could see that. He could play at his very best and still see his side concede goals left right and centre, would ruin him.

I don't see the point in selling him considering right now we probably need a defender of equal quality to partner him.

I'm not to sure about that, Sunderland actually have a descent defense, take out that one Southampton game and there only at a minus 4, which is greatly affected by their poor goalscoring record, that's their real problem.

    Sunderland are mince.

He could very realistically sign for anyone down there minus Chelsea in my opinion.

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I don't rate Virgil as highly as a lot on here.
He has a lot of excellent qualities, and is a great option to throw forward late in game when a goal is needed, same as Steve Bruce with Man Utd. back in the day, but I always feel that his tackling is suspect and teams could play on that in the EPL.

As far as I can see he's going. Just a question of when. If Lawwell is smart, he'll go straight after the CL qualifiers next summer and not before.
