I don't know about that mate. He's just got a call up to the Dutch squad and I think he'll be happy with the way Celtic have just strengthened.

If we have a good domestic season now and he performs well in the Europa League he will get a big move next summer.

Good he gets the head down and gets even better, called up for the national team aswell so why unless it's a big club would he be in a rush to leave. Chill Virgil help us do well in Europe and see sense and stay rather than doing a hooper.

The call up could do us a massive * favour.

Probably turned his mind from being despondent to delighted.

National call-up, John Guidetti to train with every day: he's probably buzzing right now.

There's still been no official confirmation of the Guidetti deal, which is really starting to concern me. Especially as he's got a spotty medical history. I hope there hasn't been a hitch.

Eh, took Arsenal 24 hours to confirm Arshavin a few years ago.

You can get an extension on the deadline as long as you submit your application for it beforehand.

Yeah, but Sky have just said that there was a rumour two hours ago that the deal had collapsed. Then they heard it may still go ahead. The sky correspondent just said that Guidetti has just left Celtic Park, but still no confirmation from Celtic. He said they'd been given an extension but that he would need to be registered with the SFA by midnight. He says he's been phoning the SFA registration line but they're still not answering. Fingers crossed its gone through.

    From the BBC Sport website:

Hopes of signing Manchester City's John Guidetti may have been scuppered.
Celtic had hoped to add the 22-year-old Swedish forward to their squad but the final details of a proposed loan could not be processed before the Scottish FA's midnight deadline.
However, there is a possibility the SFA can appeal to Fifa over the circumstances.

@celticfc hope to complete John Guidetti's signing tomorrow, if he negotiates his release from Man City. Loan deal appears to have collapsed

Probably right mate. Hoepfully the board and Ronny realise this and have nearly 12 months to find a replacement.

Europe after Christmas could persuade him and if we are still in the cups otherwise we better prepare to replace him

Arsenal remain keen on Celtic's Dutch centre-back Virgil van Dijk, despite failing with a deadline day bid for the 23-year-old. (Daily Mail)

    First I've heard of that.

If we get through this group stage and start to build a team, I can see him staying for a run at the Champions League next season.

    I can't.

I can see him leaving as early as January, even if we're still in Europe. Definitely won't be here next season.

He best just knuckle down and play his best to improve his chances of getting as big a club as possible when he does move. Needs to get over whatever is currently in his head. Off field problems? Don't bring them on the pitch. On field problems? Get over it, you can't move until next window.
