Why? Would be sound judgement from VVD. Plays well. Gets rave reviews. If Sunderland stay up, he benefits. If they go down, they'll need to sell to balance books and he benefits when he gets sold. It's a win/win for VVD.

I love the guy as a player, but who does he actually think he is?

We plucked him from * obscurity playing for some * team in Holland (that Aberdeen disposed of earlier this season by the way) and brought him into the promised land of the CL group stages.

Just like Wanyama, we have made this guy's career. If it wasn't for us, he'd still be toiling in his homeland and no one would have heard of him. A bit of respect please you big goofy *.

What do you honestly expect? He was bought by a champions league team, that was promising.. That had young talented players and a manager who raved about the potential the club had. In the mere space of a season, that manager has departed and the best players at the team have been sold around him. Hes getting off a sinking ship, but hes quite right because in essence hes been sold a lie.

He could have went to other clubs from Groningen. Instead he came here.
We never made his career, thats ridiculous. Obscurity, mate get over yourself, the dutch league is stronger than the one horse spl. Van Djik is a classy player, hes have went on to Ajax or PSV seemlessly.

The club, or more accurately the board, let VVD down. Reality check.

Going into Europe with Ambrose and Mulgrew as our centre backs?

Terrifying. Would have to be the weakest defenders in the tournament.

Maybe overated by some but still the best talent we have at the club currently. We will miss him big time and will struggle to find a centre half as good.

It's alright saying 'Get Tae * ya big *' but as soon as he is gone and people realise we haven't replaced him and are left with Ambrose and Mulgrew as the most senior centre halfs...uh oh.

Go and play at the highest level, Virgil. Worked out well for Gary Hooper.

Who is the German side Hammer?

I think Sevilla would be a good move, they have also just sold Fazio so it would make sense.

£6m is probably the most we will get. We aren't a CL club anymore. We're an Europa League club who will accept that sort of that offer.

Worked out well for his wallet. If people think for a second that Hooper regrets going to Norwich, theyre mental.

Probably easier for a player like Van Dijk to make an impression though down there in my opinion.

Hooper, as a striker would always really have been judged on the goals he got and playing at a * team like Norwich who created little and were always up against it every week that was going to be hard. If he had went to Southampton for example I think he'd have scored alot more and would still be playing in the top league just now, maybe even be near that fabled England squad spot.

Van Dijk has all the attributes needed to succeed down there like Wanyama. There hasn't been much talk of Wanyama since he left but he is quietly getting his job done and I am sure he will get a bigger move next summer, his tackling percentages are some of the highest in the league. If anyone watched their game against Liverpool on the opening day they will know why.

Infact Arsenal and Spurs are being linked with him at the moment.

I'll be gutted when he leaves. He's the best Celtic player in the last few years.
