We may accept that offer from someone if we negotiate a percentage of any sell on fee or maybe have a player coming to us as part of the deal.

Shouldn't be anywhere near the team for the foreseeable if that's his attitude. Clearly no longer interested in being here, give someone who is his place.

He isn't the committed sort, it seems, to football teams or indeed his pregnant girlfriend.

True but the ball is in our court. Anything under 8m at the very very least shouldn't be even considered. They want him that bad they'll meet the asking price and the terms. If he's that desperate to leave, which it seems, then he can go do all he can to make it happen.

We should offer him a new contract with a huge pay rise. That will change his mind if any of this is even true to begin with.

We have a quality player. If we won't spend money to buy new players, at least spend it to keep the good ones we already have.

A partnership of Efe and Mulgrew for the Europa League is * terrifying.

If we sell him this window I HIGHLY doubt we'd get a replacement in, especially one as good as him.

Since he signed for us the only team he's played against and kept a clean sheet against is KR. He can't complain about not playing at the highest level when he's been involved in games we have conceded over 20 goals in CL & qualifying about 12 games. If he wants to go so be it.

What "legends" have we made and not bought in the last decade?

We buy our best players. Like Van Dijk. Don't be a moron, we need to be keeping players like him.

I've never really taken to this guy like I did with Wanyama

Big Vic was a great guy. Really cheerful, happy character who genuinely looked like he loved it here and appreciated the fans, the club and what Celtic did for him.

Never got that impression with Virgil

The thing that gets me is that he says he wants to play champions league football. Newcastle, swansea, sevilla are the main teams after him yet they aint in champions league. If he leaves its really for one thing. Money. Take nothing under £9m

He was basically saying playing in the CL would be enough to keep him here. That was my take on his comments anyway.

Not really our style anymore, for some reason. I had expected us to have bumped up his current deal some time ago, but doesn't seem like it'll happen.

Only reason we kept hold of the likes of Wanyama, Hooper, Forster, etc. for so long was us renewing their deals. Same with any club. I wouldn't expect Virgil to be content...given rumours of his wages, and the potential to earn radically more. The ol' 'short career' thing comes to mind.

I don't understand some fans. Last season he was the best thing to happen to us and now he seems to want away, we turn on him.

I hope our management team tells him what I hope they would say to anyone wanting a move - you leave when someone meets our valuation of you and stop talking to the press.

I wouldn't even respond to a £6m offer. It's a waste of time. I'd be disappointed if he leaves for anything less than what Forster did. I want a replacement in before the window shuts too. Not a panic buy, someone who we've had our eye on for a while but may not be able to afford it due to lack of funds. If we sell VVD for decent money, there's no * excuse not to spend money on a decent replacement.
