As a thought. Do you think there is a possibility that the cash for FF & VVD might be used to bring in 4 or 5 really good youngsters on decent money and bring them up to top form for Rangers coming into the SPL in two years. Meanwhile decent runs in the Europa Cup, semi-competitive SPL - Lawwell and Deila planning on not even qualifying for the CL GSs.

Funnily enough Crilly is my surname I'm Irish and yeah I understand he wants to play there but I feel he would want bigger than Southampton and deila said he wants to stay exactly so maybe for atleast until January he's here.... Which would be great considering our champions league situation.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Lawwell is planning to sell Virgil, especially with us bringing in the young defender from Man City.

We've not even kicked a ball yet in the SPL, but already Lawwell is dismantling the team. I don't trust Lawwell or any of the Moneymen at Celtic Park, it's all balance book results and * the trophies, especially the Scottish Cup and League Cup.

I don't trust lawell either and I think the fans will/should turn on him... Missed out on the likes of finbo, fletcher maybe a couple year ago and even Jeff Louis to the extent that we stalled a bid for so long, we could have atleast 5 more quality players but he refuses to in fear we won't qualify for the CL knockouts, how can he expect us to qualify without investment in good players?

    Rangers...?

Tbh I think the board think as long as we get into the group stages thats job done. We'll obviously win the league.

Maybe if we sell Van Dijk and get into the CL and don't spend any money we can have a massive warchest for next season and pump the huns back into liquidation.

Pointless selling him only to go and bring in another * loan deal.

Of all the reasons to turn against Lawwell these may be the worst. We have no idea what has gone on in transfer dealings. By the time people knew about Finbo he was well out of our range, pretty sure Rod Petrie refused to sell us Fletcher and how do you know that we stalled on making an offer for Louis?

I think/hope VVD should stay for another season. May even sell him in January actually which would probably maximise the money we got for him. One thing about him that does annoy me is that he seems to have an arrogance which can affect his concentration at times.

If they turn out very effective replacements, where's the harm? The only problem for me is the 'if' factor; the risk associated with the cheap approach. In saying that, any transfer (no matter what the price) represents some kind of a risk.

Delia said we probably won't be signing Denayer because he will be too expensive. So it seems like him coming in has nothing to do with VVD leaving.

A year long loan of a talented CB, this might be a shrewd move.

Could just be being brought in to tide us over for the season though, so wouldn't rule out VVD leaving.

    Hopefully not...:87:

I do believe that loaning from Premiership clubs could be a good move though. Don't get all the negativity around these type of deals. If it means we are bringing quality to the club, albeit on a temporary basis, surely it's still a good thing.

Thing is you are forgetting that the young lad is here for a season loan, if VVD leaves I would rather sign someone who is our player and bed him into the side, instead of having a player who is only here to get first team football for a season.

We don't seem to keep our players long enough to bed them in for the long haul though. Vvd being a good example of this I'm afraid all our best players are well showcased and will always be snapped up for money we cannot afford to turn down.

Even so if they are our own players we can sell them for a profit, with this young guy who has come in we will get * all from it when he goes back.
