What attitude are you talking about? He looked annoyed at how * we were playing. We were down to ten men in the first leg. He is the best we have now, and for people to want rid because he didn't start running around like a headless chicken and shouting "get intae thum"'shows a real lack of footballing intelligence. Look what selling our best players has done to us over the last 2 years. We need to stop.

 

Cracking player who is just going through a poor start to the season, similar to last season when he was very poor in the first couple of games before coming on to a stormer. We have found it so hard to bring in quality centre backs in the last couple of years, desperate for him to stay, as the thought of Ambrose + a Hoiveld/Loovens makes me want to lie down in a dark room!!

played his part in at least 2 of the goals we conceded and looked lazy and disinterested in both legs. should have made more of an effort to get back and help defenders with the legia counterattacks. wasnt as committed in his tackling (probably so not to be injured ahead of a transfer)

theres no point in keeping players who dont want to be here, regardless of how good they are. the gains in quality are immediately wiped out through lack of application

the problem hasnt come from selling our best players. we cant expect to keep them and need to accept that for a lot of players we will be seen as a stepping stone. the problem has come from not bringing in suitable replacements when players leave

If Virgil really is desperate to leave us after only ONE season then he can * off as far as im concerned, dont care how good he is.

 

Way i see it, sell and move on. We've started signing players now and the money can help to transform the side a lot quicker.

 

I'm almost certain we won't sell him this season unless we get a crazy offer. Unlike with Forster and our back-up GK's we are pretty short on numbers and quality in the CB dept. He still has a fair bit of time on his contract and I think his value will only increase rather than Forster who's value had probably peaked after a Champs League campaign and going to the World Cup. PL knows that and I think we'll hang onto him for another season.
