Definitely bullshit. If Virgil has his sights set on Sunderland, he has no idea how good he is.

Relax, he won't go unless it's silly money. I have every confidence Peter will extract maximum value from the buying club.

If he leaves this summer to any of the following:

    Sunderland/Southampton/Crystal Palace

honestly I will be so * depressed. No offence to them but he is above that level imo. I want to keep him here for AT LEAST one more year, he is soooo important to us and for us to fulfill our ambitions in Europe we NEED VVD. Class centre halves are not easy to come by. There is no rush for him to leave whatsoever.

If he did leave I'd like to see him go to Everton or another top team in the PL or Europe. Seriously man hope he doesn't go this summer, I'll feel worse than when Wanyama/Hooper went.

If FF and VVD both go, SURELY this time we'll have mega bucks to spend ?

If they both go well rake in £20m-£25m and Deila will probably get £8m to spend.

The big question is, are sides like that actually wanting to sign him?

I think we may keep one of FF and VVD if we qualify for the group stages.

If we don't they will defs both be off.

If he is to go to one of the said clubs then surely a deal can be agreed in principle with celtic holding on to him until these qualifiers are out the way?! It's not as though any of them have to worry about him being cup tied! I couldn't care less where he goes when he leaves as long as the money is decent! At the end of the day if the big yin has set his sights as high as Sunderland or crystal palace then that's his problem because he will realise that he's achieved mediocrity at best.

I actually don't think Forster wants to leave. He's consistently claimed that Champions League football is his aim, and he won't get that by leaving.

    Broony!
Only link I've seen is the mirror and there's not a quote in sight!

No doubt big Virgil will be wanted but until someone publicly says so then he's staying put!

And even if others do come in with bids I'd only accept silly money - so start the bidding at £15-18m!

Wilson, Ambrose, Van Dijk. We've been successful in signing centre halves in recent times. Hopefully if Virgil goes we'll find a good replacement.

I don't even think the draw of the CL is enough to keep some players here, i actually feel that VVD and FF would gladly move to a lower EPL club than stay at Celtic.

Better wages and a foot in the door in the EPL is a big attraction, as a supporter i find it very frustrating but i can understand it from their point of view, outwith the CL the Scotish League isn't the most enticing.
