For any of our players be it FF or VVD to demand over 10 million we need a good run in the CL and a good showing in the group stages otherwise we are talking 7,8 million.
We may not like it but its not stopped the epl * us in the past.

Not at all. VVD's had one season of good performances in Europe, same as Wanyama did. He didn't stand out as much in the CL as Wanyama did, but he has 3 years left of his contract. Wanyama only had 2 left when we got £12.5m for him. I'd be demanding at least the same amount for VVD, who's also a more complete player, imo.

I reckon we'll keep him another year, he's on the verge of getting a cap and if he does that will undoubtedly add to his value.

Celtic should put a valuation on the players for clubs to START talking... make it known we don't want to hear their undervalued bullshit offers.

Our players are under contract and we should make it known that they are not for sale UNLESS our club are paid enough to replace the player with someone of the same quality AND make a profit.

I don't like it when Celtic try to get others on the cheap either. Pay the less well of clubs the going rate and share the wealth in the game.

Its a sad day when you hear clubs like Crystal Palace getting linked with our players for decent sums of money, surely they cant offer that much more in wages.

Would it not make more sense for the other team to buy that player of the same quality and keep the profit.

Unfortunately this sounds pretty realistic it will happen :54:

Anything £10mil and above will be a cracking deal for us although once again it's shocking timing to lose such a big player.I really wish we would make more of an effort to try keep our squad together right until the end of August (transfer window closes) then we would have all the players available for all the champions league playoff matches.

the mirror is one of the most bullshit papers there is.i don't see how its likely.not even a quote from koeman or virgil just the mirror tokin pish.i agree though an offer of ten million would be great bit of business for a defender.

10m for Virgil might be decent if he had 1 year or 6 mos left on a contract, but he has 2 or 3 yrs.

    I def wouldn't celebrate it.

    A) Big loss (obvious)
    B) Short selling ourselves
    C) We reinvest a fraction
    D) We have no cover at CB

Ledley had 6 months left on his contract and we would have got nothing for him in the summer.

Surely we should follow Sporting's lead and put big release clauses in there contracts when they sign.
