Van Dijk is class. £8m would be a massive loss on our part.

It's been mentioned here a lot and it is true: Van Dijk is worth more than Wanyama.

    £15m + at least.

But not yet, another season with him in Europe. He'll keep our defence in check and help us along the way to success and then if he does go then he'll be worth a lot more.

No chance, I imagine we'll be hard done by the offer we inevitably agree to but our board aren't that much of idiots to let him go for less than 10 mil

The Bundesliga side are under new ownership and the 23-year-old is top of their shopping list.
It’s understood a £6million bid will be tabled in the next 48 hours – although Celtic are unlikely to accept.
The Germans may need to push the boat out towards a fee of £8m if they are to compete with rival suitors such as Southampton, Swansea and Sevilla.
Mirko Slomka has only just taken over as boss at Hamburg from Hannover.
He said: “The team requires a couple of new faces, as do our fans. We would like to strengthen at the back as well as in central midfield and up front. I have worked out what we need and which candidates would best be suited to our club.”
Van Dijk seems destined to leave the Hoops before the start of the domestic season.

Celtic signed him from FC Groningen for £2.5m in June last year, and stand to make a huge profit on a player overlooked by Louis Van Gaal for the Dutch World Cup squad despite an outstanding debut season in Scotland.
The Hoops are also bracing themselves for an improved bid from Southampton for keeper Fraser Forster.
An initial offer of around £4m was kicked into touch by Celtic, but Saints boss Ronald Koeman – backed by goalkeeping coach and England backroom man Dave Watson – is expected to make an increased bid.
Benfica – who failed in a bid to land Forster last summer – are also monitoring the situation and could come back in, although the price could be prohibitive.
Meanwhile, Celtic face Legia Warsaw in a Champions League third round qualifier after the Poles beat St Patrick’s 6-1 on aggregate. Having drawn the first leg 1-1 in Poland, Legia won 5-0 in Dublin last night.
The first leg is in Warsaw next Tuesday or Wednesday, with the return at Murrayfield the following week.

SUNDERLAND boss Gus Poyet is ready to launch a bid to lure Celtic centre half Virgil van Dijk to the Stadium of Light.
The Black Cats chief had the big Dutchman watched during the Parkhead club’s Champions League qualifier against KR Reykjavik on Tuesday.
Van Dijk scored twice in Celtic’s 4-0 win but it is his defensive qualities that Poyet, who will probably have to offer £10million to land his man, is most interested in.
The 23-year-old 6ft 4ins defender has been watched by several clubs in England but with no move having been made, Sunderland are leading the chase.

10million for VVD + 9-10million for Forster can't do better than that. Will be easy to replace and with champions league, commonwealth, scotland internationals at parkhead we will make a tidy sum this season.

I believe Diela will already have replacements lined up

10mil for VVD and its a no brainer.

Would be sorry to see him go but what cracking business it would be.
