Virgil van Dijk

Wanyama was fantastic in the Champions League though. Virgil wasn't.

 

Aye, £8million when he is on his last year of his contract, untill then not for sale.

 

Pretty much agree with everything FinnyBhoy is saying tbh.

I personally think Virgil's worth about 8-10mill right now, but with one more great CL campaign that could easily be 15 imo.

Really hope he stays at least one more year, and I think he will.

 

For me I think he has more potential then Wanyama, he just seems like a more well rounded and complete player.

Shame we couldn't of had the two of them in the same team.

 

Won't be in the squad for the WC for sure now. Here are the 20 names for the training camp between 7 and 17 may. I know he can take 23 in total to Brazil, but if he's not named now he won't be going.

 

He won't be going anywhere for at least another year . I think his form has slipped a little over the last month or so but he is still a class act .

 

Absolute joke he's not been picked yet.

 

No Van Persie? Van Der Vaart? Sniedjer?

 

This isnt the final squad (+ some players are still in competition), but it's the final chance for some players to prove their worth to Van Gaal and since Virgil isn't there that says enough for me. Pathetic really.

 

Very disappointed tbh. Our defence is * and it wouldn't hurt to give Virgil a look in.

 

It's crazy to see its all Ajax,Feyenoord and PSV players,very strange.

 

Eredivisie is stronger than people think.

That's partly cause most players are already available from the start. These aren't necessarily the players being called up for the world cup.

 

I thought this was only for the Eredivisie based young players to prove themselves and nothing to do with the final squad.

 

You're right, it is. :smiley-laughing002: But think he has most of the squad already in his mind. Wouldn't make much sense calling him up after this though if he havent at least seen him play in the squad.

 

Defo £12m price bracket; £8m is taking the pish.

Glad Van Gall doesnt seem to rate him too; least we know he wont be going to Man Utd next season.

 

£10M and we can start talking £10m with add ons to £15m would take.

 

Aye that's all but ruled him out of the squad, strange decision really, I haven't seen a lot of those players in the list but from the little I have I'd definately of had van dijk in there.

He's been overlooked purely based on where he's playing his football imo. Stick him in near enough any of the EPL sides and I think he'd get picked.

 

Had he moved in jan to a bigger league he would have made the squad.
