Looking more confident with every game, fantastic to see from such a young keeper.

He should be given the rest of the season, including the cup final. Let Kasper jet off to the sun and rest up for pre season

Celtic goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo has hit out strongly at the Rangers supporters who pelted him with objects during last Sunday's 1-1 Scottish Premiership draw at Ibrox.

Brendan Rodgers' side turned up as champions in Govan as they maintained their 17-point lead at the top of the table.

However, the Finnish shot-stopper revealed that he was hit by a missile during the match and that it is not an isolated incident whenever Celtic have travelled to the south side of the city.

There was a bottle launched at ex-Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart that landed in his penalty area last season. Celtic physio Daniel Friel needed four stitches and was left with a scar after he was hit on the head by a bottle in an incident at Ibrox on April 3 last year. Belgian midfielder Arne Engels was hit by a coin during the New Year's match at the same venue.

Sinisalo revealed that he was targeted with an assortment of missiles - bottles, vapes, lighters, coins and mugs - as he simply tried to do his job between the sticks last weekend.

The 23-year-old admitted that players' safety was his immediate concern because if a missile hit somebody in the eye, it could do some serious damage and potentially harm or worse still, end their career.

TV footage and pictures clearly showed Rangers player Neraysho Kasanwirjo remove items from the pitch, which were thrown by opposition fans at Sinisalo

He said: "Somebody mentioned that there was a bottle thrown at me, but it wasn't just a bottle by the way, first of all I was hit with something, not in my upper body, it's just somewhere in my lower leg, but it wasn't just a bottle, there was lighters, vapes, coins, mugs, all sorts flying.

"Listen, when you think of it, and you say let's say that glass bottle that was on the pitch hits me or hits someone else, what happens then? What if it hits you in the eye and you can't play football after that? What happens then? So that's the question that we need answers for.

"I know it's not the first time it's happened, I know I was there when Arne (Engels) was hit with something, Greg's (Taylor) been hit, Joe Hart's been hit, staff members have been hit, so it's not the first time this happened, so you're probably hoping that they stop it eventually, and trying to not give them anything back I suppose, it's one of them, it doesn't really affect you, it's not nice but you try and focus on the game.

"It's such an important game, there's so much at stake every time you play a game like that, so you can't really let that affect you because that's what people want at the end of the day, they want that to affect you, which I'm glad to say that it didn't.

" I'm just trying to do my job, there aren't many jobs in the world that you get bottles thrown at you, I don't know how people identify who it is because there are a lot of people. I'm talking 30-40 objects here, that was on the pitch, so it's not just one individual, so to identify the individual is probably hard in itself, I don't know, it's up to them, I can't say what needs to be done and what should be done, it's up to the authorities and the club there.

"I don't know what hit me. My bottle was right by their fans, and I went to have a drink, and I was not facing them because I didn't know what was happening, what was getting thrown at me. So I don't know.

"It wasn't something big because it wasn't a big impact or anything like that. I expect it to probably be a vape or something. Listen, that's how it is. It wasn't just the bottle, there were quite a few things thrown at us.

"No, it doesn't affect my concentration because you're very much in the zone. You don't think that when you're on the pitch, but when you see the pictures of the bottle and you kind of go back in the changing room and think, what if it did hit me? I'm glad it didn't because it could have been bad. Listen, it's not nice. No one wants it.

"I'm just trying to do my job. There aren't many jobs in the world where you get a bottle thrown at you. So it's tough for me to say what needs to be done. I'd like to think that something should be done. But that's not for me to say what it is, but yes, it's not nice

Rodgers admitted that Sinisalo's unlikely call-up to the first team this season has negated the prospect of him being sent out on loan next season to gain valuable experience

As for Viljami, I think it's been an interesting one because if Kasper had stayed fit we may not have seen so much of him, in which case then we would have had a decision in the summer because he's a very, very talented young goalkeeper and it was in the case of does he go out on loan to get that experience with the view to him coming back to challenge Kasper to be number one.

"Indirectly, the situation has really, really helped us and cleared up that thinking because he's been excellent and he's played with real authority and calmness for such a young goalkeeper. He did a big test away at Ibrox last week, he came through that really, really well. I've been pleased for him.

I think at the very least he needs to be the cup goalkeeper next season.

See talk of Schmichael possibly being available, but would still rather we give him all the remaining games, including the Cup final.

Think it's harsh on Schmeichel to not play the cup final, he's been excellent for us.

Vil the next two games, Kasper the last two.

    Why?

Schmichael has been excellent for us but he's not the future.

He's been great this season but unlike Hart it's not a gamble he's made. He's got plenty out of playing for us already.

I'm not trying to put him down but unless we feel Schmichael is going to take us to another level next season or the one after then it has to be who makes us better long term gets precedence.

If it's not Sinasola then let's find out now. If he does the job let him continue doing it or replace him. But let's at least find out.

If Schmichael didn't get injured no debate. But things change.

I think Sinisalo has proven he has the potential to be our number one..

Thought it was interesting what Rodgers said in his presser about him.. they had considered a loan next season but it's not necessary.. he clearly thinks he'll be no1 season after next.

Schmeichel will come back in and deserves to taste the possibility of a treble and trophy day..

    Sinisalo has plenty of time.

Should Schmichael be out first choice season after next?

If he’s at the same level as he has been this season, without doubt.

He’s probably the best all round keeper I’ve seen for us. Forster best shot stopper neither commanded the box. Hart was best for organisation of the defence and leading from the back.

Schmiechal has the shot stopping, the leadership, concentration and until him the good on the ball keeper I was still confused about why it’s such a sought after thing. For me it was a bonus, I’d rather Forster * passing then Bain good passing * keeping.

Schmiechal has it all but. Wish he was just 2 year odd younger, if we get 3 years of that level from him I’m ecstatic

Needs the league Cup and Scottish games next season at the minimum and depending how we fair in Europe, give him a crack at one of those.

I have a lot of trust in him. Will he make mistakes? Absolutely. He's a young GK. But I fully believe he's the real deal.

Delighted with his comments too. About time someone from the club was straight about things.
