He needs to not rush things, like he did giving the ball away at the edge of our box.

    Aye, agreed..

There wasn't that much pace on the ball and it was in the air for a while, could have adjusted quicker..

It was a freak goal. A cross hit with a lot of pace, no keeper is getting to that.

He's absolved of any blame whatsoever.

Definitely, did it a number of times. There is a balance there to be had - he's got a great opportunity the last few games to start to show he's learning from this experience.

Young Celtic goalkeeper, talks very well, full of confidence, and looks the part.

    Nothing like Jonathan Gould. :giggle1:

Celtic goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo revealed that he will take a leaf out of Joe Hart's book and take a penalty in a shootout if required.

The men in green and white face St Johnstone in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden Park on Sunday, and Sinisalo insists he has no reservations about taking a spot-kick.

The Finnish shot-stopper watched Hart slam his penalty off the post during the same stage of the competition against Aberdeen at the national stadium last season after the two clubs shared a pulsating 3-3 draw.

The Englishman blew a chance to slot home the winning kick for Celtic on the day, but redeemed himself moments later to save from Reds midfielder Killian Phillips' effort as the holders won 6-5 on penalties.

Sinisalo insists he won't shirk from the responsibility if the opportunity presents itself against the Saints

He said: "Yeah, I watched that game, actually. I do watch a lot of football. Joe (Hart) went on to save the following penalty and win it for the club.

"Listen, I'll take one if I have to, but I'm sure there'll be other people taking it before me. I won't shy away from that if that moment comes to me. But I'll stick to saving them firstly, first and foremost."

The 23-year-old admitted that a lot of his preparation before Sunday's showpiece had revolved around penalties.

Sinisalo said: "Listen, you always do. I kind of approach it the same way as any other game. It's one of them. You always do your research with Woodsy (Stevie Woods) and other goalkeepers, kind of little tips and stuff like that.

"I wouldn't say you do more. You always do the same because you want to be ready for whatever comes, whatever game it is. So, no, it's been more or less the same as other games.

"I might have taken one or two, maybe even three penalties today after training. Yeah, listen, like I said, if it comes to me, I'll take one. But I'm sure the lads will, there'll be some takers before me, and hopefully I can save a couple if it goes to that."

Joe missed it but, don’t take a leaf out of that book. I wanted to murder him when he was laughing. Barely recovered from the outrage when he saved one for the win.

Where’s the trend of keepers for penalties came from? It’s going to be Pep and Edersen innit?

That save from the flick was a topper. Definitely got the attributes to be top class. Just needs the experience I think.

Had my reservations when he was getting thrown in due to Kasper's injury but he's proving me wrong. Looks very confident and capable. Looking good young chap.

Good save when the United player was through 1 on 1.

I like him, he's obviously not the finished product (distribution and catching the ball the main culprits) but I think there's a good chance he will eventually be first choice for us. It'll be Schmeichel for the foreseeable when he's next fit, but I think we're in safe hands for the future either way.

He's looked very promising to me too. Signing him and Schmichael last summer was a great move.

Actually like that he actually passes out long quite often. That short passing around your own box all the time is asking for trouble

Got a bright future ahead of him. The more matches he plays, the more confident he's becoming. Done well when crosses were coming in and looking better each week with his distribution.
