£1m for a 19 year old highly rated Kenyan midfielder?

Lets hope Lennon knows the score with this kid.

Got a good feeling about this. Been some amount of talent playing in Belgium recently, the sort of emerging market we should be targeting. Hope we sign this guy.

Definately, Belgium are going to be a very decent team for the next decade or so on the international scene. Got a lot going for them just now.

Evening Times is saying that reports in Belgium is that we are close to signing him.

if he's good enough for Lennon, he's good enough for me. need to clear out the cluttered midfield excess now and reinvest in other areas eg keeper. think midfield options of Ki, Kayal, Ledley and Wanyama will be great for next season. may even move us into a better position to deal with the loss of Kayal in the (hopefully) long term future.

Those 4 would give us quality in depth, would be delighted to start the season with those 4 as our midfield options. Shift Juarez as he will never get a prolonged run.

Neil Lennon will celebrate signing his new contract with Celtic by stepping up his bid to sign Victor Wanyama.
The Kenyan holding midfielder has been on the Parkhead manager’s wanted list for a year, and is now available from Belgian club Germinal Beershcot for a bargain £900,000.
Standard Liege were ready to meet Beerschot’s asking price. But, after failing to convince Wanyama, left, to join them, they have withdrawn from the race for his signature, fuelling speculation in Belgium that Celtic have already sealed a deal.
Wanyama admitted he was disappointed his chance to move to Parkhead last summer did not materialise as Celtic brought in Beram Kayal from Maccabi Haifa.
The Kenyan turns 20 this week and is considered to be a ready-made replacement for Kayal, whose future remains in doubt as interest from England continues to grow.
Capped by his country at just 15, Wanyama has retained his place in the full national side, so gaining a work permit for him is not considered an obstacle.
Powerful and technically adept, he can also play in central defence, qualities which almost earned him a move to CSKA Moscow last year until a late hitch ended the interest of the Russians.
Beerschot hold a 50% in the player, with the other half owned by a businessman, and they reckoned they could get more for Wanyama.
But, with a year of his contract to run, all parties are keen to conclude a transfer in this window.
Lennon will check on the progress of this and every other possible transfer deal as he returns to work after his summer holiday.
The manager is expected to sign his improved contract today, and there are also new deals for his backroom staff.
Liverpool are reported to be considering making an offer for Ki Sung Yueng, if they fail to land Charlie Adam, though it is unlikely to be the £10m reported.
Lennon will also hold talks with Darren O’Dea, who wants assurances he will be in contention for regular first-team games.

Why do people think kayal is off? Juarez will defo be offskis which mean we have 3 centre mids and no t a back up for kayal so we need this player and with him being young we can mould him in the kayal role if he moves on next year. Quiet excited with his prospect aswell thrre are some cracking young players in that league.

I hope we get him, he looks solid and being Kenyan he's probably as fast as *. Plus he's played 50 games in the Belgian League at 19 and thats probably a stronger League than ours so he cant be a mug.

Me too Mick, I'm all for this one happening, Agree with all your comments, plus the added bonus..... that he can play centre half too, be a good time to have young centre- halfs, Rogne, Wilson, and this guy Wanyama, getting brought on by Maj, we all know big Maj isn't perfect, and lacks pace, but he could be the man, to build our central defence, by being the "auld heid"to these 3 youngs guys. Aye :50: I'm deffo up for this one
