Good to see us signing, lets hope that he lives up to the promise.

btw, if this was the huns signing it would be on the news, the papers and a no doubt Whyte would be getting interviewed on Newsnight regarding his magnificent swoop!!

I think you have gotten ever so slightly carried away with being negative in this thread.

I can understand you getting annoyed at some peoples over zealous posts about how excited they are at him signing. ( When most have never seen him play.)

However you are coming across like a * and any relevant points of view you did have are now irrelevant.

Not to mention the fact that if Wanyama signs every time he has a decent game you will be torn a new *.

I admit that the prospect of him coming didnt float my boat, but now he is here I hope he is going to be a valuable addition to the squad. We can argue all we like with regards to players, but the man that counts - Neil Lennon has a pretty good record so far, so lets hope for the best.

It's not been made official yet, although Sky Sports is reporting that it will be done by Thursday or Friday at the latest. The last report I read on their website said that a fee and personal terms had been agreed.

I thought Sno would have been a big player for us, but I was wrong. I thought the big man was as slow as *, and I felt he went into tackles half heartedly. He was good when he wanted to be, which wasn't very often. I thought he was a big disappointment for us. Sad to see what happened to him, wish him a speedy recovery.

Ain't that the truth. Sky Sports is my favourite media outlet actually, because their reports turn out to be accurate 90% of the time and they don't just post any old * on their website, in order to get people talking.

    *cough*Daily Record*cough*.

Celtic told they have a real diamond as move for Kenyan Victor Wanyama nears

    By Brian Marjoribanks

Last updated at 12:21 AM on 29th June 2011

Belgian side Germinal Beerschot gave their blessing to Kenyan midfielder
Victor Wanyama’s imminent £1million switch to Celtic.

And sporting director Chris van Puyeveld assured manager Neil Lennon he was landing ‘a real diamond’ as the deal, first revealed by Sportsmail, edges nearer to completion.

    [IMG] Top Bhoy: Victor Wanyama

The only hurdle appears to be the granting of a work permit after the 20-year-old’s club accepted the Celtic offer and Wanyama agreed
    personal terms.

Kenya’s international side are outwith the top 70 countries in FIFA’s rankings so a work permit bid will be automatically rejected.

But Celtic are confident they can convince an appeal panel that Wanyama, who has played for his country for five years and who represented them in all six World Cup 2010 qualifiers, has the quality to merit a permit.
Last night, van Puyeveld was confident the deal could happen in the next 24 hours, pending the work permit decision, and he has no doubts the combative Wanyama will earn Celtic a major return on their investment.

‘You can never say it’s a done deal until it’s absolutely done but I don’t expect any problems with this move,’ he said.

‘Victor is an excellent player, a real diamond and a very good guy as well. I have no doubt Celtic will be pleased with him and he’ll be a big success in Glasgow. I’m sure his value will rise a lot during his stay.’

Celtic last night warned Premier League vultures that captain Scott Brown is not for sale. Newcastle have been linked with a £4m bid. But Lennon’s dream of luring Shay Given back to Parkhead was fading last night. Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish looked set to complete a £4m move for the keeper

NEIL LENNON has stressed Celtic skipper Scott Brown is NOT for sale - even if he lands Victor Wanyama.

Lennon confirmed SunSport's exclusive that Brown is locked in contract talks. His deal has one year left and both Newcastle and Bolton want him.

Celts are closing on Kenya midfielder Wanyama. The only stumbling block is work permit red tape as Kenya is ranked outside FIFA's top 75 nations.

Lenny, who arrived in Australia last night for the start of Celtic's three-city tour Down Under, insists the 20-year-old won't be seen as a replacement for Scotland midfielder Brown.

Lennon is desperate to keep his captain, who cost a record £4.4million from Hibs in 2007, and contract talks will be ongoing.

The Celtic boss said: "We opened preliminary talks with Scott at the end of last season.

"He's on record as saying he wants to stay at Celtic and that is something I'm very pleased about.

"I'm hoping to get him tied down."

Newcastle have been eyeing Brown after selling their own skipper Kevin Nolan to West Ham.

Bolton boss Owen Coyle, with money to spend, is another admirer and needs to bolster Wanderers' central midfield for the new season.

Lennon knows Premier League teams will be watching his 26-year-old leader - but says he will remain in Paradise.

The gaffer added: "I wouldn't be at all surprised if there was interest elsewhere because Scott was magnificent for us last season.

"He was so important to me and he's my captain.

"However, I would be very unwilling to sell him and I'd look to rebuff any offers for him."

Wanyama claims he's poised to join Celts from Belgian side Germinal Beerschot in a £1m deal.

He has revealed that he's agreed personal terms with the Hoops and Celts are ready to appeal if they fail to get a work permit at the first attempt.

It would be Lennon's third summer swoop after landing Adam Matthews and Kelvin Wilson.

Meanwhile, representatives of the Parkhead club will be in London today to meet Maccabi Petah Tikva officials with a view to signing Israeli international striker Omer Damari.

I think we will sign Wanyama, Damari, Bothroyd, a GK and an experienced CB(possibly on loan.)

    Out will go:

    Murphy
    McGinn
    Juarez (Loan)
    Hooiveld
Loovens (If we sign a CB)
Stokes (If we sign both Bothroyd and Damari.)

I can't imagine there wouldn't be. I'd imagine it would be around 10%.
