Odd attitude. That's like always playing football with your younger brother's mates rather than mates your own age because you're afraid you might lose! I'd take losing to (but regularly competing against) the strong over beating the weak anyday.

On a similar note I genuinely believe fans of the smaller english clubs (and i include saints in this) get more pleasure on the odd occasion they beat one of the big guns than you get from cruising to ANOTHER title in scotland - is that so ridiculous?

Fair enough, mate. I can see where you're coming from; you Saints must get a fair buzz off of beating the bigger teams, Fulham and Norwich etc. Of course they're bigger in comparison to Southampton.

A move to Southampton lacks ambition completely. Im sure they will try to pitch what they are trying to achieve over the next few years but another 10 or 11 teams in the Premier League will be using the same selling pitch on potential signings. If I was Vic I would stay put until a heavy hitter comes in for him and if he has belief in his own ability then he should know they bids are coming soon.

Aye, beating a big club and finishing 40 points behind them but be class. I don't know how we get by up here with only the likes of Barcelona, Juventus, Liverpool, Man Utd, Benfica, Lyon, Villareal, AC Milan, Porto and Ajax to beat. It's difficult for us to reach the dizzying heights of lower-mid table mediocracy or a mouthwatering relegation scrap.

Thats fair enough and I can see where youre coming from. However, if I was a professional footballer I would rather have some silverware to show at the end of my career than say I beat Man City once out of the twenty times I played against them.

Personally I don't see how going to some middle of the road team who don't win anything (not reffering to any team in particular) and playing against the top four of five teams in England is seen as an improvement than playing in the group stages and possibly further with us in the Champions Leauge. I agree that the rest of the competition (your mid table and lower teams) are of a higher standard in comparison to what we compete against up here and would obviously provide a greater challenge.

If he was to go to Arsenal or Liverpool (who to be fair don't really win much either) at least he would still be playing in Europe and testing himself against the top teams in Europe whilst still having a decent chance of winning a cup competition. If either of those teams got their act together they have a chance of going far in the Europa Leauge and possibly (although unlikely) winning the Leauge.

Why does it ? he would only be using them as a stepping stone to a bigger club like he did with us only difference would be it's the league that attracts him this time not the club. If the big clubs still do not think he is ready then it makes perfect choice for him.

why the concern were vic goes ?

once he leaves celtic, that's it.
he could play on the moon for clangers f.c for all I care. as long as celtic get a good fee for him so our scouting system can unearth another gem.
wish him al the best at his next club, as for who it is ?? who cares ??. not me

Then wouldn't that mean we were conceding that this Newco is still the same club?

Sorry, but we don't do that :icon_mrgreen::56:

I share your sentiment to a degree, but it will do our club's pedigree good to send players to top EPL or other cash-rich clubs. All else aside, these clubs/leagues are getting the most exposure, and can offer the highest wages. That's what young players are striving for, and we can't offer that kind of money. But if we're seen as a club that only signs top prospects, and develops them to reach a big pay day, we can attract a higher caliber of prospects, and our club will go from strength to strength.

Odd attitude wanting to WIN trophies? Strange bunch. Very strange. Most fans of EPL clubs are the same. Absolutely embarrassing.

So if he went to Augsburg just to play against Bayern & Dortmund that's better than playing at a massive club who perform in the biggest club competition available and win trophies? I pity you. Enjoy mediocrity.

His agent sounds like a right *, not the first time we've had issues with him either. Vic would be better off without him.

We won the JPT but we're sensible enough to realise it's not a medal that carries much weight in the footballing world.
