That makes no sense. He says we are a massive club and that no-one can deny that, then his main argument is basically that we are not bigger than Southampton? He doesn't actually say that but you can see what he is getting at. He talks of how we can't be called a bigger club by default because of champions league, well Southampton cannot be classed as a bigger or even an average side simply because they have a bit of money and play in England. Also, we are not just arguing we are bigger because of champions league qualifiers ffs. We are bigger in basically every aspect. Ok, we might not play in a "quality league" :)87:) but we are still Celtic and a * of alot more people know and love that name compared to Southampton? is it? :56:

"but if he does you should be pleased for his opportunity in the best and most expensive league in the footballing world" dear oh dear.

I think Lambert and Ramirez would get a game for us...Rodriguez wouldn't

Lallana plays out wide.... And I would have Lambert, Shaw and Clyne on my team sheet first and foremost...and on yours...

In fact a good Celtic team would probably be

    Boruc

    Clyne Yoshida Lovren Shaw

    Wanyama

    Lallana Schneiderlin Ramirez

    Larsson Lambert

Charlie Mulgrew and Kelvin Wilson over Dejan Lovren and Vegard Forren?

Luke Shaw and Nathnaiel Clyne are very good fullbacks.

Morgan Schneiderlin, Artur Boruc, Gaston Ramirez, Rickie Lambert and Jay Rodriguez would also put up a good fight to get in the team.

This'll be put down to English arrogance again, but the Southampton first choice XI would push Celtic hard.

Yes you made the last 16 of the Champions League due to a couple of impressive wins, but that doesn't mean you are a long way ahead. Southampton in one off games beat the reigning European Champions last season at home and drew with them away, and beat the reigning English Champions. Everyone can have a good game against a big side.

Was kind of expecting Vic's agent to play hardball like this. If he can get us to sell for £10m, then that's more money for Vic in wages. We have to play hardball too. We have two years left on his contract and he should go when the deal is right for the club, not Vic and hi agent. I have no doubt Lawwell will do just that.

To be fair to the writer, you really do have to "question the quality and ambition" of people like Larsson that stayed here 7 years.

Clyne couldnt lace the boots of Lustig or Matthews, our two right-backs. Shaw is decent but he wouldnt start before Izaguirre yet, especially in big games.

Lovren and Forren havent kicked a ball for you, same as Van Dijk hasnt played for us so I didnt include them.

Yoshida would never get a game for us.

Lallana, Ramirez and possibly Schnederlin are the only ones who would.

Out of curiosity, how do you think Southampton would have fared in the Champions League last year?

Boruc as well is 50-50 at his best he's better than Forster but Forster is far more reliable.

That is just a Southampton team with Larsson and Wanyama in it. Are you saying that all your players are better than ours ?

    Boruc better than Forster ?

    Clyne better than Matthews/Lustig ?

Yoshida looked dodgy at the confed cups and would have Van Dijk ahead of him

Lovren is a great signing for Southampton

Shaw is a prospect and is probably on par with izzaguire already

I would have Hooper over Lambert but still rate him highly

Ramirez is still to show his best form for you guys. Ledley would be a more solid option.

I would have Lallana and Schneiderlin in my team.

Has anyone else read this?! Surely not the thoughts of Victor. What a kick in the teeth that would be.

You guys clearly haven't watch Celtic at the highest level in Europe. We have watched Southampton week in week out. We get match of the day up here btw. We probably know as much about your team as you do.
