What's the point in Southampton fans being in this thread.

I won't be back in this thread until something is confirmed

Some of our fans need to stop being so * touchy by the way. The guys being rational; he doesn't agree with us and I don't agree with him but he hasn't been a *. No need for reactions like that.

Qpr spent bundles must have been in the top 6 spenders in the league and had better players on paper than quite a few sides in the epl like Norwich, west brom etc,it doesn't always work out like that...

Clint hill and co would have been terrorised even in the spl

And no one said we don't rate the premier league we just know its not as good as you all try to make out, however many hundreds of millions a season you's spend to improve it!

What I'm saying is having a better squad is absolutely irrelevant if you can't organise them effectively. What good would a back 4 full of internationals be if they could hold a line or mark the opposition striker? What good would a star-studded midfield be if they can barely string two passes together and only make a half-arsed attempt to track players back?

What I'm saying is, the BPL has lost something in recent years with the influx of huge money and little patience. Players are bought on name and reputation with little regard on how they would fit into a system or develop a team. We don't have that luxury here. Teams are usaully built from the back with decent fundamentals.

Put it this way, would this QPR side finish within 16 points of a team that reached the last 16 of the CL over a domestic season?

    As do I.

I think I'd burst with anger if the English commentators said something like "Credit to the Southampton scouts for finding this real gem in Wanyama" - as they have a tendancy to do.

What they've lost is teams who can't defend, all there sides now are poor at the back which has coincided with goals galore on numerous weekends and been picked up by everyone in the media jut how bad the defending has been, which has been expertly exploited with ease in Europe...

Players like boswinga are prime examples if a guy who can't and won't defend cause he's hopeless at it and doesn't give a *,as long as he's pocketing 80,000 grand or so

Wanyama will leave. He might not go to Southampton but he is definitely going.

Southampton have made no comment on the matter and are extremely unlikely to. Either it doesn't happen/they had no interest and the club makes no mention of it, or the club announce it on the OS.

Plus as Devlin says, I'm merely answering points in I hope a nice manner. Yes, I think Celtic are a huge club and are bigger than Southampton. I'd be daft not to, but your domestic league situation is stunting the club's future growth. Unless you move south (which is unlikely), you will continue to lose your best players to teams you consider below you.

He's basically not going unless he gets his big move, think he's happy to bide his time if its not now...

Whatever happens for a young foreign lad with a lot of attention on himself,he's/he'll come out of all this if he does go looking well as he's made no fuss whatsoever and not pushed for a move trying to force one!

That is far from definitive, we had a similar on/off transfer transfer saga which dragged on all last summer for the £12m purchase of Gaston Ramirez.

I think this is a case of agents playing games. Southampton despite spending big on transfers/wages have taken a stand against large agent fees and paid the least of any club Premier League club last season despite spending £35m on transfers. If the deal doesn't happen that is likely to have played a significant part.
