The vast majority here are well aware of the reason wanyama would join Southampton - money. Same reason Ramirez joined, another player your fans insist on going on about - as if spending a fortune on a player who got you 5 league goals last season is a good thing.

Regardless of what you may believe, no player is going to look at computer generated images of new facilities and think of that as a reason for joining. The 'but we have ambition' argument is thrown about by every BPL/championship fan who comes on hear.

There are some decent ones, such as the guy above, but in general the English are the worst, most arrogant, self-absorbed, disrespectful, and utterly delusional fans in the world.

My guess is, we wouldn't sell unless another replacement is on the radar. It really depends on who this is. Me personally, i'd hold off until we see who we get in the qualifiers.

There are some good teams in there. We may need some help to get us there. I'd be keen to do the deal later in July.

Wee bit disrespectful to the many Celtic fans that hail from down south but English football fans do have a high opinion of themselves but the world knows this anyway.

    Can't believe we're only selling for £10m.

    Hutton went for £9m ffs.
    McGeady £9.5m.

I hope we have a sell on clause or add ons.

I don't understand why the Southampton fans on this forum think that they would be gaining some sort of moral victory over Celtic if they signed Wanyama from us.

We would be the ones selling a guy that we signed for £900k two years ago for anywhere between £12m-£15m. That's a massive profit and further proof that Celtic's signing policy is the correct one. Not just getting some rich owner who's got money to burn to invest in us and gain success that way.

My thoughts entirely... But there you go.

We are arrogant for suggestion one of your players would sign for us for reason x y and z.... And you're lot are arrogant for suggesting there is no chance that he would sign for such a small club for such a small fee etc etc.... Which entirely looks like what is happening:87:

    Have a wonderful afternoon :celt_2:

I disagree, I think most of us acknowledge that the EPL is of a better standard and awash with money. That is all we are highlighting to them. We are right in saying that their club is not prestigious, historical, nor do they have a great deal of silverware to shout about. They do however play in a good standard of league, have plenty of T.V. money coming in, have a decent owner with plenty of dosh and some ambitious plans. Fair play to them.

I haven't saw much from us that is un-fair or lacking in intelligence.

Lets be honest guys the SPL is a stepping stone for the EPL for a lot of players .
We cannot compete on wages or TV exposure that the players would get in the EPL .
When big Vic goes all we can say is good luck and thanks for the memories big man .

That's bollocks to me,maybe you should have a read through properly at the debates of last night which were pretty valid and not just one sided either,or better still contribute yourself instead of throwing your 2 pennies in adding nothing!

Guys, where is the official confirmation of a bid even being made for Vic, never mind accepted?

I'm scouring various trustworthy sites and seeing nothing. However, the ever reliable 'Caught Offside' has an article up saying a move is close :smiley-laughing002:
