Exactly £15 million and 10% of his next transfer fee.

I think the lad will court any premiership team if their terms are attractive, he will see any move to the EP as a way to raise his profile even higher. His agent should be nudging him to either stay with us for a season or two more or getting to an EP team that will give him game time...no use him going to one of the big guns only to be used fleetingly.....He is a great young player but he is by no means the finished article yet.

Although I think he could do better than Southampton I would not be surprised to see him go there. They can offer him plenty of dosh, a regular starting place and experience of the EPL. One good season and he can easily make the step up to a bigger side as they will then know what he is capable of doing at a higher level. As I said before though, I feel Arsenal may end up getting him.

I agree with that mate but I think he is a step up from Southampton. The agents of African football players tend to be greedy * to be honest and push the player to sign with whoever is offering the most cash, therefore you might be right and he may just end up with a team like that.

Same, its what theyhave been crying out for but you know how fickle Wenger is.

They are also cheap * so I see a fee no higher than £10 million and a sell on clause. :smiley-laughing002:

Both were worth that at the time surely ? Alan Hutton in particular was causing all sorts of damage in Europe and at international level.

I think £14m should be the aim for Wanyama. He is the best player in this team by a mile. Not since Larsson have we had a player who is so much better than the rest of the squad (in my opinion).

How much is yaya toure worth nowadays? Wanayama would easily fill the guys boots.

Not to buy obviously but if I were lawell or lennon I would be aiming in the region of 16 - 22 million for wanyama....and if it happens to be on the lower end of my scale then I would want to see them push for a 25% sell on fee.

If we sell for less we let the EPL win again. Have to remember guys like Hooper and Wanyama owe the club so much they would never be able to pay them back in this life time so hopefully they play there part in getting the maximum amount of those * as possible.

No, Alan Hutton had a good 6 months under Walter Smith. Craig Gordon SPL and International Form over the years could be argued but the biggest goalkeeping fee in the UK at the time? Was a bit much.

I still think he will start next season for us.

& some people in here are just guessing or thinking
    that he'll be gone.

How right you are mate. I see players from small leagues go for fees like £20 -£30 million and yet the SPL always gets handed * fees from England. Like a a little condescending token offer from them every time.

Agree with the second point. If it wasn't for us Hooper would never be in contention for the England squad.

    Realistically, I think we'll get between £10 & £12 Million for Vic.

I know potentially he's worth a lot more, especially in today's over inflated market, but rightly or wrongly, the SPL is still seen as an inferior league in Europe, so teams are less willing to pay big fees on a gamble.

We heard it before, especially about Di Canio & Larsson played in the EPL, but that attitude towards the SPL has never changed, & to be honest I cant blame them.

At the end of the day, we paid £1 Million for Vic, so recouping £10-£12 million is fantastic business.

We have to adapt, I have no problem with us copying the Ajax method of buying young players with potential with a view to selling them on for large profits.

As for Hooper, the boy just wants to play in the EPL, agreed, Hull over Celtic doesn't seem like much of a choice, but with the money these lower EPL teams can throw at players, its no wonder they want to move there.

£15m plus 20% sell-on fee, and that'll do for me. I honestly think that if he went somewhere like Arsenal, he'd end up somewhere like Man Utd/Real/Chelsea for £30m.

He has the potential to be the best at in the world at his position.

Some chat about Southampton being after him in the paper today. Would be a big step down from Champions League nights, not sure I could see him going there.

The world can see how class he is. He basically owned barcas midfield:50:

10 million isnt realistic at all anything under 15 million would be a major disaster and wipll entice the EPL to try and get more of our quality players on the cheap once again.

High time we put them in there place.

Southampton is only going up, they already showed there ability to pull in great players by bringing in Gaston last year and already Dejan Lovren this summer.

Yes they seem to have a good young coach and a few good players but the fact is the very best they can hope for is a cup win or a Europa League run. Top 10 finish will be their aim next year. Big Vic is destined for bigger things.
