To leave a team that wins the league and gets Cl games for a team that got to 11 semi finals says it all....money money money.
But I don't blame the guy,he came through some tough times with no food for days ect ect and does not want to go back to that or his future kids to suffer the same.
No matter what people say on here I doubt 99.9% of them would turn down the epl riches if offered them.

Personally, Celtic will be the last proper big club he plays for. He won't see champions league football again in england. Wish him luck tho.

Wonder if they'll still be calling him over rated etc in 6 months ?

Doubt it. They've got a bargain (in English football terms)

People calling him a mercenary because he is moving on to a better league for higher wages. If someone offered you a new job with higher wages would you turn it down because you didn't want to look like a mercenary ? Get a * grip.

It sounds pretty harsh when you say it but there's a lot of truth to it. They've probably mostly grown up in poverty or not far from poverty. When they get the chance to make the extra money, it's extra money that can go towards securing their families futures as well as their own. I can see the logic to be honest.

Even through all this, I just think Celtic really want to push through a transfer and get the money, in my opinion, this stems from the fact that they know Wanyama will definitely not sign a new contract with conditions that we can offer. Great player and I will wish him the best, no doubt those Southampton fans doubting him will love him in a few months. To be honest, they should be grateful they can get a player like him, not too long ago they were in League One and now they seem to have adopted the EPL arrogance. From League One to being able to get a player who strolled the CL against the likes of Barca.

Professional football is a short career and you have to make the most of it. What Victor has done makes perfect sense.

Considering we spent only £900k on him, £12.5m is a fantastic price. I'll never forgot that goal against barca, one of the best nights of my life, thanks vic.

This! The day we lose John Park is the day Celtic will have to dig deep in to their pockets to get some quality

    100%

The guy grew up in a very poor country many miles from here. Do people really think he should have any deep connection to Celtic ahead of a bigger league or more money?

If another company offered to double my salary I would be there tomorrow.

Should push to get Emmanuel Mayuka on loan as part the deal.
