    Former Celtic star Victor Wanyama is undergoing a medical at Dunfermline Athletic.


    Neil Lennon is set to snap up the Kenyan international on a deal until the end of the season in a major coup for the Championship club, as the experienced player looks to make a sensational return to Scotland 12 years after his departure from the Hoops.

    The pair worked together at Celtic Park during the midfielder's two-year stint in Glasgow.

    Wanyama, 33, made 91 appearances across all competitions for the Scottish Premiership champions. He scored 13 goals and contributed nine assists.

    His form at the heart of Celtic's midfield earned him a £12.5m transfer to Southampton - a Scottish record sale at the time.

    He went on to play 97 times for Saints, before making the switch to Tottenham Hotspur, where he played the same number of matches.

    Most recently, Wanyama turned out for CF Montreal in MLS, playing over 140 times between 2020 and 2024. Here, he played with current Celtic right-back Alistair Johnston.

    Wanyama is set to join the Pars as Lennon aims to guide the club to Championship safety with seven matches of the campaign remaining.

    If a deal is concluded in time, Wanyama could be part of the squad to take on Ayr United at Somerset Park this Saturday.

    Dunfermline sit ninth in the table and are only six points clear of bottom club Airdrieonians.

    Hamilton Accies are just two points ahead of the Pars, so it's all to play for with Scotland's second tier set for a tight end to the 2024/25 campaign

    Aye, Thumb he's having a medical and hoping to debut against Broonys Ayr United on Saturday, Vic was playing in USA last year so should be reasonable fit, forever remember Vic's performance against Barcelona in our famous 2-1 victory.
