I would love him to go to Arsenal.

People were judging him for going to Southampton but this is exactly the reason why it wasn't a bad move. They are a decent club and if you perform for them you will get noticed.

The only reason bigger clubs didn't move for him straight from us was probably because they wanted to see how he faired in a better league first. Wenger could take his career to the next level.

exactly what arsenal need and the sell on fee would be great too but realistically arsenal should have bought him directly from us

I would have thought that Southampton would want £20+mil for him.

That's one way of saying you underestimate and belittle our league/players.

We all knew of his abilities and that he is good enough for the big sides. He's doing fantastically well at Southampton though, and I'd dare him to finish off this season to see where they end up. Imagine they got the CL spot. What an achievement. Him and big Fraz are making all the right noises.

Arsenal is the perfect fit for Wanyama (and vice versa), and I'm glad to see he is doing so well. To be quite honest, Arsenal would have done well to get both Wanyama and Forster directly from us. Both players have proven themselves in the Champions League and now the Premier League.

Their price tags meant very little risk, too. I think the majority would probably agree that Forster is an improvement upon Szczesney, and that Wanyama is exactly what The Gunners lack.

What an absolute beast of a player. I remember on his debut for us v wolves thinking who is this clown we have signed after a few stray passes.
Happy to see him do so well.

How many times has he been linked with Arsenal now? Almost every window since he was with us.

    Will it ever happen???????

I don't think I've seen it confirmed anywhere but after selling a 21 year old with massive potential, I sincerely hope so.

It would be extremely idiotic if not, and I think they're fairly common these days.

to be honest arsenal are notorious for not buying the players they need so it wouldn't surprise me if they go for another small pacy attacking mid as opposed to big vic

We probably don't have a sell on clause, thats why they would have given us £12.5million, as we'd a probably took £10million but with a 20% sell on clause but £12.5million would have really paid that up front.

There is some FIFA rule though that if you have a player under 23 you get small %'s of his sales up to the age of 23. Something like .25% from age 15-18, .5% from 18-21 and 1% from 21-23 or something. So we may be due 2% if they sell him before he turns 24. 2% of £20million would be £400k. Although this probably isnt accurate id need to look it up but cant be arsed lol I mind Beerschot were due it when we sold him but I dont think they got it as they "Sevco'd" and became a new club or something. So it'd mean if you had a player from 15-23, say Callum McGregor and we sold him to Everton then if Everton sold him before the age of 23 so next year we'd be due like 3.25% of the fee as training compensation from having him from 15-21

We wern't desperate to sell him and when your getting offered mega-money for a 21 Y/O you would e stupid not to have a good number of clauses chucked in.

Can see him there, always thought of him as being ideal for them. Spurs are rumoured to be in there as well.

To be honest, although he is a very good holding midfielder, as we all know, watching him in recent weeks, he is still very raw. There are obviously not many around like him though, and his partnership with Schneiderlin is a big part of Southamptons success this season.

I think at Arsenal he really could take his game to a whole new level.
