How's the big man doing so far?

I've got a feeling he's taking a bit of time to settle and not exactly setting heather alight?

Aye... From what I've read the Southampton fans aren't too keen on him so far.

Think we did really well getting £12.5 million for him.

They were expecting a box to box midfielder from him . But the decent fans recognise that he might just be the reason why they are conceding few goals this season.

I've not seen much of him down there at all but I think he's started every game and they're about 5th in the league... so he can't be doing too bad.

If his development has stalled it's because he's taken a step down, the only way he was gonna improve this season was by staying with us and getting another year in the CL, or going to an even bigger team like a Man U or Real Madrid, but none of the big boys wanted to take a chance on him.

Which is stupid because he would stroll right into that abysmal United midfield without a shadow of a doubt right now.

His passing was a major let down of his here.

    Absolutely. It's spectacularly average.

He very rarely futures in the highlights. I never see a touch from him. However having watched a few of his matches he is competent but looks a bit un-settled. A good half season and he will be cracking.

I play YahooSports fantasy football and he is one of the higher point earners - consistently gaining good points, week in, week out.

Southampton were expecting WC CL Wanyama to perform from the off and are obviously a bit impatient.

The Southampton fans were buzzing about him after his preseason performances. He plays in a position where he sometimes doesn't stand out. If he does his job well, they may not notice, but it helps their team massively.

They don't let him go up for corners or let him get a bit further forward, which is a bit odd.

Southampton have one of the best defensive records in the league. Wanyama is a huge part of that, imo. He's doing his part and letting Schneiderlin do the fancier stuff.

I've noticed that, too. I might have posted that, as well. Seems bizarre given what a threat he is. Surely they recognise that?

I guess they're confident in Lambert or whoever else can threaten from set pieces, so they've given Wanyama a more defensive role.

Still hoping to see him curl in a screamer from outside the box at some point this season though.
