Yup and both players had a year and more on their contracts. We sold them because of the money, so we can re-invest it in the team. It does my * in but that's how we will get more money, if we reinvest it in the team that is how we can build a class team.

We could have kept Wanyama and Hooper, let them leave on a free and have a couple more years of them.

No, I agree like I am happy to have got the money we did for them, but people are acting like wee lassies fainting at a one direction concert just because some pundits now in England are saying what we all * knew for the past 2/3 years :31::31::31:

I'd rather take them to the * cleaners anytime they look up here. They're not going to try and take our players for pish prices.

Every single time they even want to take a look at our players they should be thinking we need to pay top dollar. Aye, I know what you're saying and I'm not one of them, there pishy pundits saying Wanyama looks like a £20m player? Well next time they come up here after Lenny has said he's a £25m player they'll be getting taken for that price and we'll go do it again and again.

They can continue buying them at £12m+ he's good but replaceable. Won't even miss him.

We've been trying to milk those * for every penny they've got for years now, and it's only now that we've got YOUNG, HUNGRY players that have been performing exceptionally well in the Champions League that we are now able to start negotiating for REASONABLE prices now.

I understand what you're getting at, but for me the best way we start demanding top dollar is if our players are producing good performances in Europe's top competition - CL.

Bollocks to that, we will miss him like * in the Champions League. I'm not one for downplaying players ability just because they have chosen to play their football away from Celtic Park.

Wanyama was the one player last season not playing above himself in the Champions League last season. He was shoulder to shoulder with some of the best players in the world and he was quite content in their company.

He'll be going on to much higher things than Southampton.

They won't if they keep on splurging on complete flops that came from us. That's all I'm saying.

When was the last time an absolute flop was bought from Scotland? See to be honest, I can't even recall.

Jelavic was the last high profile signing from Scotland to England, and is still doing well at Everton.

The league is awash with Scottish players who are - by all accounts - doing well and are well thought of:

    Jelavic
    Naismith
    Whittaker
    Boruc
    McGregor
    Snoddy

    To name a few.

Wanyama could turn into the next world class player at Southampton, and move to Man Utd for £30m - Ipswich town would come into that league and still try to offer us £3m for Izguirre - it's just their mentality down there.

As long as our guys continue to shine in the CL, then we've a good chance of bumping the prices up - well, for some more EXOTIC players, I mean there was Mulgrew one of the highet ranking assisters in the competition last season, and not even one sniff from another team regarding buying him.

    *, forgot about those two.

Hutton for me, was the dealings of Daniel Levy (who was a shareholder at Rangers) - so I personally don't class that as a "transfer" as such.

Gordon looked absolutely fantastic early on for Sunderland, up until horrendous injury :54:

Petrov went down there for about £6m and ended up club captain :50:

Maloney, McArthur and McCarthy have made decent careers down south and even though I don't rate Caldwell. He's made himself captain.

Aye, definitely, however I think the reputation Celtic are trying to make for themselves is you give us top dollar and we'll give you a top player. We are following Porto's example. Which they have been very successful at implementing, ever since Mourinho's time in charge of them.

Steven fletchers done well at every club he's been at..

Even players like wes hoolahan have done well for themselves leaving Livingston to being a first team starter in the premier league albeit moving up the leagues with Norwich after Blackpool..

I think Mikael Lustig is just as comfortable as Wanyama in the champions league. Guy looks like he's got his slippers on when he's playing against some of the best players the world offers these days. I hope Wanyama does go onto bigger things too, I think we will miss him as well, but if Ledley, Kayal and Broony really up their game then we won't miss Vic as much. Particularly with all these big physical lads we've signed, I think we will be even more dangerous from set pieces this year.

Naismith has been absolute gash down there, the Everton fans don't like him.

The thing is, if it was a choice of either keeping hold of these players until their contract runs out and lose them for nothing, but getting another year or two in the Champions League, or selling them on for decent money and seeing our club spend a fraction of it on players, I know which option I would take.

I understand that we wish to see the club maintain a healthy bank balance, but * *, you'd think that having money in the bank was up there with winning the league listening to some people.

The shareholders must * love being involved with our club.

I'm happy to use that model as long as we re-invest in the team. I have faith we will.

But if the window * and we haven't you will see me going * ballistic.
