Agree with the above. They paid 18m for Smalling. 29m for a Young Ferdinand. Good young players cost money.

I'm not saying we'll top 9m but just for eg he is exactly what United missed out on with Dembele to an extent. They'd get Vic a little cheaper and be able to mould him the way they want.

It wouldn't surprise me and I don't think he'd struggle after a fair season down there.

Lazy journalism of course but clearly would be a good buy for United.

We got him for less than a million. If we are offered 7m in the next 12 months of course the board would accept. Lets be realistic.

Ideally though, he will stay another couple of years.

Utter * bollocks about Smalling fee .

Victor Wanyama will go for £10 / 12 m max and that will be with add ons.

It's pish, Victor's worth imo about 13 million, taking in his age, ability and potential.

A reckon we'll get 10 million because the league he plays in. Unless he can have some absolute belters in these final 4 Champions League games then we want get near 13 million.

It's a completely different transfer market these days so you can't draw any comparisons between the two transfer fee's

Its not that different. How can an spl player be worth such a big fee all of a sudden?? What has he actually done to be talked about in such high transfer terms??

Yes because he was outstanding in both of them games wasnt he?????? 22 completed passes against Spartak. Can see the whole of Europe eyeing him up after that. Or is it his rash challenges or poor first touch they will be loving??

Fortunately the board will be more switched on than that.

Wanyama is potentially worth a lot more than £7 million, the ace up our sleeve with Big Vic is he plays in a specialised position and in a particular way. There are not many players with the physique and the legs to play as a holding midfielder like he does and he has added the final piece of the jigsaw by performing against the cream of Europe.

If 2 or 3 EPL clubs want him, which they will, it will be £10 million+ or no deal.

The difference is an inflated transfer market petrov was in his peak years and going to a club like Aston villa where as wanyama is a player who is showing great potential and looks like he will be the next powerhouse African midfielder and it's clubs like man city's arsenal and man united who are interested in him a more accurate comparison would be m'villa who has been linked with similar clubs for a fee in the region of 12-18 million and he also has less European experience than wanyama and looked very average in our games against rennes last season
