I think what is worrying is he pulled his hands down for one of three reasons....1. He is a * dumpling 2. He thought someone else would clear it. 3. He thought it was going wide and past the post and had no actual * idea where he was in relation to the goal.

 

I don't think he's a goalkeeper at all.

The first rule of being a goalkeeper is to make yourself big. Every time I've seen him face a shot, or even a cross, he's tucked his elbows in and made it harder for himself to reach it.

I though Stevie woods was supposed to be one of the best goalkeeper coaches around, responsible for training Boruc, Forster etc. If I was him I'd be telling Celtic to get rid of Barkas asap as it looks like it's just luck that those keepers have come through under him and he doesn't have a clue what he's doing.

At least Pukki had the odd game where he showed what he can do. Barkas has been an empty jersey in every game he's played for Celtic. As others have said, Scott Bain is a * keeper and he's like Van Der Sar compared to this imposter.

How da * did we pay over 4 million for this guy..?

According to the other sites ITK Big Ange has been actively trying to get rid of him.. which begs the question why would he start him over Bain? If true.

Apparently we have had loan offers but we want perma get ta guck outta here move..

 

Couldn’t understand the ridiculous amounts of revision over this guy in the close season..

We know Bain isn’t good enough to be long term number 1 but he has at least shown he can make saves and be part of treble winning teams over the course of a few years.

This guy is just shocking...seriously

 

He moves like he's up to his knees in treacle, I've never seen anything like it.

 

If this guy cost us £1M he would have been binned ages ago. We are only persevering because he cost £5M in some illogical hope he will come good. Unfortunately, he won't. He is brutal.

The impact he has isn't just one of a poor goalkeeper either. It causes panic in the backline. Continually picking Barkas will cost us. Their has got to be better out their that we can afford

 

The whole defence needs urgent attention.

 

I thought he was playing relatively well last night too, well, up until that piece of calamitous ‘keeping.

Genuinely thought he looked pretty commanding, lively, decent in ball distribution.

But aye, his actions for that goal were criminal. That’s almost as bad as that goal he lost against the huns last season were he dived for a shot and still never moved off the spot where he was stood

 

I want to know going back when we played aek if Rodgers did any research at all on the keeper we didn’t test him on set pieces at all kept trying to walk the ball in that played to his strength .... only thing he’s good at is coming off line to grab ball from players

Craig Gordon is a * but to think we let him go on a free and spent £5m on this guy.

Of all the positions in the entire world of football, all we need is one guy, yet we can't find anyone.

Even being lazy, there has absolutely got to be a talent in England that is Forster-esq in that there is a talent there but he's club aren't playing him.

Of all the times we spend £5mill there has to better than Barkas

 

I really disagree, Bain is much better and we need much better than him.

 

I stuck up for this guy more than anyone last year. I suppose the YouTube compilations and the fact we spent 5 million on him blinded me from the reality. He’s just not and never will be good enough here. Whatever attributes were seen in him have probably deteriorated beyond repair since being here. Seems to have had a crisis of confidence since being here, which for a keeper more than anyone, is no good. Either get Forster back or go in for Woodman, even Siegrist as we know he’s dependable and consistent.

The £5m on Barkas is a sunk cost. No use crying over spilt milk and no use trying to drink said milk off the floor. We need a keeper if we are to have a successful season. It’s really as simple as that. We cannot persist with this buffoon (Bain is just as *).

 

If we got foster and siegrist that would solve the goalkeeping problem but we would have to punt barkas and Bain and that's easier said than done but we need a number one keeper before the league season starts as we will win * all this season with those two .

 

Hopefully that will be his last game, he has shown NOTHING since he came to us to say he is even a half decent keeper. A new GK has to be the priority, and that's saying something, given the number of other positions we also need to sort.
