Great performance if not the result we were looking for. The disappointing thing about going out is our performance, at home, in the first half. That performance was down to tactics. We cannot employ the tactics we use in the SPFL week in week out against teams of Valencia's quality. Tonight we have shown we can compete with the teams that spend millions on players if we have the right tactics. Finally tonight, Brendan has shown he has learned and we can adjust our tactics in Europe, have we turned the corner on how we approach European games against quality teams? We wont know until next season. Tonight, happy with the performance, just a little disappointed we didn't approach the game the same way at home. Now onto the Treble.COYBIG

Boyata was better than “played well”. Saved us a few times.

So * frustrating. 2 soft yellows, the second in particular looked like guedes ran into the back of him. 1
His touch is criminal at times. For all the chances he creates for himself through his pace and industry, most of them come to nothing due to his poor control.

I really like him but his touch needs serious improvement.

Good performance but counted for nothing in the end.

Easy to play when there’s no expectations and that was the case after last week.

Burke is electric but his touch is * awful. The amount of times he got into good positions and completely * it up was unforgivable at this level.

There is lots to take away from that, up until the red card I felt it was on. You can say that Valencia were playing within themselves, or trying to do a professional job, but Brendan got the tactics spot on. Even with ten men we restricted their chances and if Ajer takes that chance there would have been hope again.

We learned plenty about the players tonight too. Bain is unquestionably first choice now, no question. Not only that, I don't think it is an area we need to be worrying about too much for a while.
Ajer's commitment is brilliant and he isn't lacking in ability either. He has to be ahead of Jozo and Humpy.
While KT is out, Hayes plays. No matter whether that's at full-back or wing-back.
Toljan just doesn't look anywhere near it. His positional sense is atrocious and is why he got sent off. It was so stupid. Criminal.

Brown and McGregor were running the game before the red card and were both excellent afterwards too. Brown is nowhere near finished.
Unfortunately, I don't think Christie is at the level. He seems afraid at this level and, as much as I like Burke, his touch is atrocious.

Can definitely leave with our heads held high. The fans were magnificent all game too.:ynwacelti

Thought it was an incredibly soft sending off.

Gave some heart with the display though from the team. They're a quality outfit.

    Very proud of the Bhoys.

I know it's all if's and buts but if Toljan doesn't get sent off we would have won that. Ref * it.

Put in a lot of effort with no reward Ajer should have done better with his chance but I think our passing lets us down at this level and trying to play it out from the back all the time puts pressure on the defenders that is unnerving for them and us
