I don’t get the desire to give him a chance. He wasn’t good enough first time around.

Because he’s went and got a year of football under his belt in a decent league that he’s done quite well with.

Even the first time round he looked useful but not good enough to be playing infront of Eddy and Griffiths. If he’s grown into a striking role then why not. At the same time I’d be happy to recoup our cash on him.

I actually thought there was a player in Bayo when he was given the chance.

Put himself about, bossed Berra at Tynecastle.

I think we got 1 headed goal from a striker last season (Griffiths), he just gives you something different off the bench.

Numerous quoting he’s left his national team and flew to Belgium to seal a deal no club been mentioned as of yet. Here’s hoping they don’t stall like us in regards to transfers

Misfit Vakoun Bayo has walked out of the Ivory Coast Olympic football squad to enter into talks to clinch a move away from Celtic to Belgium.

And he's left his country one player short for their quest at Olympic glory in Japan.

The Celtic flop spent last season on loan at Toulouse and impressed during their French second tier campaign as they failed to win promotion in the play-offs.

Toulouse had an option to buy him for £1.3 million, but wanted him to return to the club on loan instead and their president, Damien Comolli, insisted the player had promised him he wanted to come back and play for them in France.

But Bayo is on his way to Belgium to clinch a deal with a yet-unnamed club there and end his Parkhead *.

The 24-year-old was named in Ivory Coast's Olympic squad and Celtic and Ange Postecoglou allowed him to play in the football tournament which starts later this mont

But the African nation have been left outraged that he's left the camp because and won't play in the Finals because his new team don't want him to travel to Japan.

An Ivory Coast FA spokesman said: "We will try to replace him in the squad after this.

"But as it stands, we don't think the IOC will accept our request since the deadline for submitting the lists has expired."

Bayo started just one league game and made eight substitute appearances in 18 months since signing for the Hoops and netted against Partick Thistle in the League Cup and Clyde in the Scottish Cup.

He cost Celtic £2 million in 2019 when he signed a four-year deal from the Slovakian side Dunajska Streda.

Don't think he would have done much here but he offered something different. Wish him well, didn't get a great chance and I hope we have gotten a decent fee for him. No reason why we couldn't make a bit of profit on the guy. Signed him for £2m and he's had a good year in France.

A complete waste of money and more important a waste of time.

Isn’t good enough, was never going to be good enough, just a cheap gamble by the club when they should’ve been buying better players.

A walking example of how abysmal this clubs recruitment is.

I'd personally liked to have seen him with a chance, he did well at toulouse and the few times I saw him play for us I liked his movement. Different option to the others as well.

Won't be too sad to see him go though but don't just give him away for * all, get a decent sell on in there too

I think we will get £1.5m maybe 2 at a push. Clubs are not fighting for him, and they know he wants out.

Good luck to him. My personal opinion is that he was never going to be good enough for us.

Maybe not but he only started 1 game, Lennon should have at least given him a chance.

Maybe, but players usually earn their chance on the training ground.

On that same logic David turnball only started giving a * in training in november/december, Soro must have been atrocious on the training pitch......

Maybe so, Rodgers ignored him after signing him as well.

Wait infact, it was Lenny wasn’t it? I’m getting my timelines mixed up :56:
