    He looks * rapid.

6ft 1 with his pace and ability in the air is a potentially deadly set of attributes.

Eddy doesnae even need to play to the left, Eddy can play his own game because he simply drops deep every time anyway looking to get on the ball quicker than what a true CF/striker would.

    Mate.

Honestly, I could greet tears of joy!

For some reason I have been drawn to this guy, clearly hardly anycunt has seen anything of him but something keeps telling me he's a good 'un.

Today's performance pushes me right in the direction that he may be the missing piece of the attacking jigsaw.

We've some decent possibilities and it includes this guy.

Could play him up top with Eddy more left-hand sided.

Could play him with Eddy in a 4-4-2 diamond

    Could play him lone striker.

Could play him central in a 3-5-2 - Boli wide left and Forrest wide right

Also could be a godsend for Eddy - like I said previous he prefers to drop deeper to collect the ball and get on it and face the defenders. His qualities aren't up for question, but at times he looks far too isolated as the "lone" striker. Crossed balls to Eddy are pretty much a waste of time, and clearly in this team cross balls are going to be important - which is fine by me.

Bayo - although not built like yer Suttons or Hartson/type CF, is a physical guy who is aerially proficient and something that is useful when playing against packed defences, as well as overly-physical or aggressive (see Zombies defence as an example).

Agree, Eddy is a quality player excellent dribbler, good close control and his finishing is really good you rarely see him miss the target or mis hit a shot everything is very precise but he lacks the attributes of a normal striker, he doesnt do a lot off the ball in the box doesnt go near headers or make runs for tap ins and in terms of hold-up play and winning long balls like a number 9 he doesn't really get involved in that.

Bayo is like the opposite of him in that he can win balls in the air and gets onto things in the box, seems to thrive on it as well and that is his style of play.

    Could work well together.

New Celtic hero Vakoun Bayo laid claim to a debut double and a admitted he should have bagged a hat-trick.

The Ivory Coast striker’s brace in a 3-1 win over Hearts was clouded in doubt with Jambos boss Craig Levein insisting two own-goals from Christophe Berra and Craig Halkett were to blame for the defeat.

But after taking the acclaim of the Hoops support after being replaced by Leigh Griffiths in the 77th minute, the 22-year-old was adamant his goals were above aboard and he deserved the credit.

He said: “I scored twice. I touched the ball for the first goal and the defender also touched the ball but I got the last touch on it.

“I got the last touch for both goals. I disagree that they were own goals.

“I should have scored three and the manager told me that as well.

He’s been great with me since I arrived and he speaks to me and encourages me all the time.

“I have benefited by the encouragement and it has paid off with me scoring.

“Heading is one of my qualities but I can score many ways but that is one particular quality.

“It’s the principle role of a striker to score. Even if you don’t score you can still help the team but you want to make that impact by scoring.

Bayo ended eight months of injury frustration by turning in a man of the match display as Celtic reclaimed top spot in the Premiership on goal difference after Rangers had won at St Mirren.

But the Ivorian insists it’s been a long wait for the opportunity to impress for a side which went through the gears in an emphatic win over the Jambos as Callum McGregor netted the other before a consolation Connor Washington penalty for the visitors.

He said: ““I’m very happy, I’ve not had a start before this game so I’m really pleased.

“I’m really happy with the performance of the team as well and myself.

“It’s a great club and the fans are incredible. This was my first chance at starting and there were lot of people watching so I was amazed by that.

It’s just part of football and the fans make it.

“The fans were happy and they understand I have been waiting for this.

“When I arrived I was really happy and then I suffered the injuries but the manager has been happy with me and the progress I was making but I had to be patient with it.”

Hoops boss Neil Lennon hailed the impact of Bayo and he believes his impact has added another option in attack alongside Odsonne Edouard and Griffiths.

He said: “It’s nice - we have three excellent strikers. Odsonne is in fantastic form and Bayo has shown quality. In Griffiths, we know we have a player who can score goals out of nothing. So it’s looking a bit better now in that position.

“We were a bit slow to get the ball into him early on but once he found his feet, he was superb. He should have had a hat-trick and I’ve told him that as well.

His forte is getting on the end of crosses. He was unlucky to hit the post with his header. But he can be absolutely delighted and we all are with him.

“I loved his second goal, it was a real striker’s goal getting across the defender and a wonderful finish.”

Lennon also paid tribute to Bayo for biding his time to get a first team look-in and for making the most of his opportunity.

He said: “He had a real bad hamstring rupture which kept him out from March onwards. Then he was looking decent in pre-season when the hamstring injury reoccurred. So he’s had to be patient.

“We just felt Odsonne looked very fatigued on Thursday and he has a bit of a hand injury. So it was a good opportunity to showcase Bayo and see what he could do in that environment. He excelled

I'm convinced Bayo is far more aware of how to play in the box than his humble price assumes. He just owned the penalty area today, Eddy would love the way he scatters defenders, making them score own goals, as he likes to play looking towards the goal.

Edit: That's a good interview, sounds like he's all about team first and loves he can contribute. Ok I'm mentioning it again, in his video it is so impressive the amount of team mates that surround him celebrating when he scores, kinda makes sense reading that.

Like the look of this guy, bit raw but natural goal scorer. Hopefully we'll continue to see more of him. Would like to see him firing on all cylinders in the next couple of months.

Admittedly I'm not a gambler, so I'm not sure exactly how it works, but wouldn't Berra count as 1st scorer if it is an OG and not McGregor?

OG's don't count, it goes on to the next scorer when that happens.

I never knew that. Seems a bit random, but I guess it would be a lot easier to "fix" first goal scorer if OGs counted.

Ye could you imagine, all some player would need to do is get his friends and family to lump on him to score first then bang one into his own net.

The Bookies urny that daft :giggle1:
