Ugly Football!

I`m sorry i dont think we are * we are a good team and to be honest silky football is all well and good but give me winning ugly so long as we are winning . on saturday we were the best team but still lost and as for square passes so long as they retain the bal thats cool we cannot compare ourselves fairly to man utd or arsenal for example as they have mega millions to spend and we dont .

 

first half today our football was good, celtic at their best play some great football, unfortuanately most away pitches in the SPL dont allow nice football

 

he's not comparing them to us on their level. he's comparing their style of play, we actually used to play like this under MON.

we should be like manu are to their EPL opposition with the rest of the SPL outside rangers.

 

You hit the nail ont he head right there....exactly what I have been trying to say all along.

Its the mentality and our approach to games. When we go to Tannadice or to Tynecastle we should not be thinking "well, they are a good side and they might cause us problems, so we must play defensively and be cautious". We should be saying "OK, we are the champions and we are the best of the SPL, so we should just go out, play attacking footie, score some goals, get the 3 points, then go home".

 

i can never take any of your fututre points seriously if you don't find our style of play ugly. something that isn't good on the eye is ugly.

a lot of subjects going around the club is definitely up for discussion, but our style of play is one that definitely is not.

 

Exactly - we play to suit other teams, we lower our standards it's as simple as that.

 

I have to agree with this, i aint getting onto WGS, but im afraid we are NOT a good team, and last night was poor, at our own ground as well, and i have to say, crosas cannot seem to pass forward or make any type of threatening run, its poor, and if something aint done, we will struggle to beat at least 5 SPL teams! The point about forwards is so true, if we had someone with pace to help skippy then we would be much more of a threat, but at present JVOH is holding us back, and when he does come on, we start punting the ball up to him, only for him to give a foul away, its bad...

 

Nice post mate a agree with everything you are saying/ there,s a lot on here that must be watching different games at times because the truth of the matter is we are playing rubbish football!!

Last night we were scared of dundee utd, the fans inside the stadium knew this as well it discusts me because we can attract the better player and pay better wages than teams like dundee, hearts, etc i started watching/supporting celtic 15 year ago and imo the football this team produces week in week out is garbage and its the same * all the time, we have caldwell and mccmanus who when are in possetion lump that baw up the pitch for scott mcdonald??????? 5ft6!!!!! brilliant!!! then we have lee naylor who has been rank for 2 year and still gets a game????? his passing is totally dreadful and i have gave him the benefit od the doubt numerous times but av had enough of him!!!

The team lacks some thing in the middle of the park, well basically dundee utd ran us ragged the 2 boys gomis and bauban and they were bought for a couple of grand>>>> why were they better than our centre midfield last night???? also jvgoh must cause more fouls than any other player i have ever seen in my life not to mention the 10 offsides a game!!! frustrating as *!

Anyway am backing us to win the league but we clearly need a change and imo a new manager wouldnt be a bad idea because some of his signings have been pish, so here,s hoping hibs play 110% tonight/ the way they play against us EVERY GAME CANT SEE IT RIGHT ENOUGH!!!!!

i quite like the football we play when we are on form , some great football but on an average day we are terrible

 

that's off form for me. when we play well i'm in shock.
