I thought it was pretty clear mate..

They knew it would incur a fine and if you look at the GB joint statement it's quite clear they were * off with the clubs decision. Don't get me wrong we might have seen the banners anyway, I'm not in the GB so don't know for sure.

Tbh I'm glad the whole tie is over and done with and hope we don't face them again, but out of everything that happened over the two legs, not taking our allocation of tickets for the away leg is what's * me off the most.

Maybe I have missed something here but the choice of banners didn't demonstrate that the lack of away tickets was being protested.
I wouldn't like to think that anyone would purposefully do something that could potentially see us fined or worse.. and lets be honest here we must be getting closer to more than just a fine. So If that is honestly what they wanted then Sween's statement wasn't that far out.

Thing is mate. I'm not sure what the changes to qualifying are going to be but in the second round they were one of only 5 teams we could have got I think. So if they keep winning their league it isn't that unlikely we could start playing them as often as we do Ajax, Barca and Benfica :fear:

    Sorry you misunderstood me..

The banners were clearly meant to rile the opposition and loyalists here and in Ireland, mission accomplished.

What I'm alluding to is that if we had had a full away support the fans wouldn't have felt so frustrated and possibly might have been less inclined to send a message out in the 2nd leg.

The club made an absolute * of it and the GB along with other supporters groups voiced their frustration, this might have played a part in the thought process over the banners.

It will be a fine nothing else, we move on.

That image is a little misleading mate as the Easter Lilly isn't exclusively linked to the I.R.A.

Was at both Rapid 'home' games... this is a banner totally different scenario tbf..

One thing that hasn't chsnged is how weak the board are around these issues.

They like to get the * in first. It's like that bit in The Acid House with them.

Thousands and thousands did on Wednesday night when they participated in the biggest 'rebfest' heard at Celtic Park in many a year.

Regardless of how we feel about the banners the other night, we know we'll be under an extra bit of scrutiny now going into the next game, the thing that concerns me is people taking the GET IT UP YE attitude and having another * UEFA banner or similar and getting us hammered for it.

I'm really hoping we won't have any more banners up next game. What's the point even, all it will do is get us in even more trouble

Hopefully there's a big * Uefa banner next week.

Maybe add another IRA man in the mix.
