Board wait till qualified to see where they are at they have priority targets then have targets where if we make cl we get those targets and if we are europa we go for other where if it was me I'd go into overdraft to make sure got quality in too make the odds more on our favour to make the cl

Agree 100% got a feeling board are waiting to see if Dembele leaves or if we make group stages before they make an investment in a striker.
Really annoying what ever the reason,as a club we should be planning ahead and investing but for some reason the investment on the pitch is not what it needs to be at this stage.
A club like ours should not be going into games this important with no strikers available,to only have two to pick from (which seems to be the case)is shocking.

We were very lucky to not go to Norway 2-nil down.

The only time we looked dangerous was for about 15 min in the 2nd half when we went down the middle instead of trying crossing from the wings.

reminded me of the Boavista games at home and away. Only thing is we don't have a Larsson who can handle playing in Europe.

As I said before kick off, it is a total disaster that we went into such an important game without a recognised striker. There was far too much sideways and backwards passing tonight and that was a direct consequence of having Rogic, instead of a proper striker, up front. In the end we were fortunate to escape with a draw as Rosenborg had two or three great chances to score an away goal.

Hopefully the Thumb will be back for the second leg. If he's not then we should push Sinclair through the middle, he's more of a striker than Rogic is.

Only good thing is we can't play any worse than that, and they probably can't play any better.

We'll get at least the score draw in Norway.

Beautiful Sunday - the IRA version
Thumb won't even be back for next week's game as he's injured.

So it will be a repeat of tonight, no recognized striker, so our better midfield players like Sinclair and Rogic will be dragged out of position to try and mount an attack. But it won't work. It hardly worked in the SPL last season and it's not going to * do for our most important games of the season.

Can see a repeat of Malmo two years ago, a pitiful 2-0 defeat without managing as much as a shot on goal.

Even if they had been there, don't think it would have made a substantial difference to the result. It would have towards atmosphere certainly, but not match sharpness or squad selection or formation. That was where we failed tonight.

And this is why we need Roberts or someone similar as Forrest is rank and we had nothing down the wing tonight. How Brendan can say we are stronger than last season is beyond me.

At home, and our centre half is MOM. Just about sums it up.

Read interesting piece with Dundalk manager Stephen Kenny earlier.
Talking about difference in how Rosenborg play home and away.
Might suit us better, but maybe wishful thinking on my behalf.
Very lucky not to conceed tonight.

"Ingebrigtsen, though, showed against Dundalk a willingness to change his personnel to suit the occasion.

Kenny recalled that Iceland international Matthias Vilhjalmsson, who scored the extra-time winner in the second leg, was deployed in central midfield and centre-back Johan Laedre Bjordal was also in the starting line-up as a taller, more physical side was chosen for the first leg in Ireland.

"Their creative flair in midfield was played wide on the left in the away tie," he said.

"But, in the home tie, they brought in Yann-Erik de Lanlay, a left-winger who actually scored their first goal and Birger Meling, a smaller left-back who was more dynamic.

"In the away tie, they went for the taller, more physical team than in the home tie, where they went for some more technical players."

We could have played for all night and not scored.

Too many players wanting to come towards the ball and not enough looking to run in behind. The Rosenborg defensive line was fairly high up towards the end because we didn't really have anyone going beyond them.

I don't know whether it was the instructions or the players own decisions, but we could have been far more aggressive with our movement and forward running. For large parts of that game Forrest, Sinclair and Armstrong had basically no defensive responsibilities, but failed to really make the most of that freedom.

Against a tight defence like that, we missed a striker capable of sniffing out a chance (Griffiths/Dembele) and we really missed someone capable of beating a man in the final third (Roberts).

Still, it's another competitive 90 mins under our belt and we'll be better for that, and I do fancy us to get an away goal in Norway.

Is Leigh definitely back? Rogic came into the game when he came that wee bit deeper. Not having a striker killed us tonight! Still could be worse though but still extremely frustrating. I hope Rodgers has an ace up his sleeve!

Actually thought Forrest was one of our better players second half, at least he did something. But it shows how much we miss Roberts, with no spark on the right flank there's no space for Sinclair to exploit out wide on the left.
Felt sorry for Rogic, he was our biggest goal threat once he went back to his position.
We just didn't play forward enough, but I think we can knick a goal at there place. Griffiths would have had chances tonight.
I wouldn't play Ntcham there though, I'm sure there's a player in there, but he looked more off the pace than most, and was forever giving the ball away.
