Udinese vs. Celtic 15/12/11

We're due some luck in a game, lucky fluke goal or a early Red Card for them.

3-0 to Udinese is my realistic prediction but HOPEFULLY sneak a 1-0 win with Sammy scoring a last minute beauty

 

The number of posts talking about them putting out a second team, if it happens is not much diffrent from ourselves.When have we been able to put out our best team team this season, rarely and certainly does'nt look like its going to happen on thursday.

 

how many supporters are coming to udine?? approximately!!

 

Lennon has come out on the website and said he is going to go for it as we have nothing to lose...hopefully should make for a good game!

 

I hope Lenny is playing a sly move here, by saying we're going to attack.

We've a * record away in Europe (which has to go sometime, I suppose), they are top of the Seria A & are very brilliant at counter attacks.

We'll get pumped.

It'll most likely be Madge & Wanyama in CD, with Mulgrew & Cha at FB.

That doesn't leave much cover for Madge in midfield, which he needs - only Kayal & Brown - who don't work well as a pair IMO.

Think Loovens getting injured has scuppered our chances, unless another CB can get fit in time to free Wanyama to play in front of Madge with Kayal.

 

k wilson is back from injury, played a bounce game last wed and was on bench on sat, give him game too get him back up too fitness for old firm

 

Any word yet on who wont be playing because of injury?

 

Izzy obviously, Mark Wilson and Loovens still out I'm sure. Rogne ineligible. Others ?

 

think almost everyone will be back fit apart from the obvious.

if he's fit i'd absolutely put him in. would imagine that means we see wanyama in CM & a back line of cha-maj-kelvin-mulgrew.

 

they play lazio sunday (which is a top of the table clash) and juve who are neck and neck with them at the top of the league they are going there best in the league for years with two massive games coming up in the league they will almost defo put out a weakend team so i think we can do this.....they would propably sacrifice a place in the knockout stage of the europa league for 6 points in there next two league games

Going to be asking a lot from the team to get a win over in Italy against what is one of the best teams in Europe going by their league position but ya never know. The only change I would make from that lineup is maybe put Ledley into midfield instead of Brown and put Loovens ( if he is fit) into the defence but I think this is a game where we will need Brown`s drive. Wanyama sitting in front of the CB`s should contain the play getting near Di Natale but he will get chances during the game and we need to hope he is off form. That wee Romanian is quite pacey too so need to keep an eye on him. Need Forrest to have a big game and if it isn't working for him, we have McCourt or Commons ( fitness? ) to come on. 2-1 to the bhoys hopefully with Hooper and Broony getting the goals but it will need one * of an effort to get anything over there

That looks pretty solid as well, 3 defensively minded players, and forrest a free role to try to unnerve their defence. We have options on the bench in Ki and Sammy if the game needs changing. What we cannot do is give them any encouragement in the beginning. Keep it tight first 15-20 mins then build our confidence.

 

hope we do more than "blow the * doors off !" if we win this game it will be stunning and would be up there with one of the greatest results we have seen, * i hope we do it !

 

I'll watch Rennes against Atletico this Thursday, even if my team has no chance to qualify, but i keep an eye to the Celtic result in Italy. I wish you'll defeat Udinese and pass through this group !!

 

Udinese will probably play their 3-5-2 again. I think we should play Stokes AND Hooper with Forrest in a free role, as we have nothing to lose. Them playing 3 defenders gives us enough space for those 3 players to combine. With maybe only Brown helping in attack, the rest holding back. That means we will have 4 players in attack, and still 6 players defending. That sounds solid to me
