We lost 5-0 in Strachan's first ever competitive game against Bratislava and he went on to become, statistically, one of the most successful managers in Celtic history and the first to win 3IAR since the man himself, Big Jock.

 

If you look at our 3 previous away games this season we have scored 2 goals both coming from set pieces. I really would love us to get through but we really dont have the quality in the side. the only thing that will get us through if we can get a magic peroformance from our defence and i mean everyone playing out of thier skin and nicking a goal from set piece- but you would have to be a brave man to bet us not to conded . we would need the likes of ki kayal wanyama to give everything in their locker .

I really hope we can do it

 

Udinese are top of Serie A.

 

In the past, Italian teams have put out reserve sides if the have something to play for in Serie A.

I don't know if Udinese will do this or not. But if they go into this game thinking about their next league game, it may help a bit.

 

Hopefully they dont play Di Natale.

 

Swap Bangura for Sammy and that would be quality.

 

I think we can win this game, no real pressure in it. If we go out it's not the end of the world because the league is the priority this season.

I think he might rest Hooper or Stokes, most likely Stokes and start Bangura. He should also start Brown, with Forrest or Samaras to drop out.

Udinese b played us at home and can see Udinese b being used again and think they will beat us by 2 or 3.

Hmm whether udinese play a strong team or weaker one will realistically determine if we can win. udinese want to be in the champs league, getting an automatic spot, hopefully that means they focus more on the league than the europa league.

We have a fighting chance. Records are there to be broken.

 

Udinese are the favorites. They are on the top of serie A and have lost only 7 goals so far in this competition (14 games played) + they have great home record, so I guess it will be extremely difficult for us to score a goal there.
However, the part of the beauty of football is that anything can happen. Underdogs can beat the big favorites and I hope that this kind of surprise will happen on Thursday.
Anyway, I wish Celtic victory in every game, but tbh for me league is a priority.

 

Udinese might well play a second string side, going by what their manager has said. Be a big boost if they do.

I dont hold out much hope for anything other than a beating but if we did manage to win it would be brilliant.

I too would like to see Bangura playing, id leave out Hooper and Stokes. Go for pace on the wings and play Sammy alone up front.
