Udinese vs. Celtic 15/12/11

The problem is it's far too open against a quality side. That's why we played the 5-man midfield against Athletico. We need 3 central players in there if we're to have any control of the midfield. Today against Hearts, we couldn't get a grip of the midfield at all - imagine what Udinese would do to us.

 

Ahh, I see now. Well I suppose we could just put Brown or Ki instead of Stokes and go 4-5-1

i agree that the league is our main priority and we need to try and avoid getting injuries which playing those extra games bring that danger. But it would be good to get some money on the side and its a great confidence booster for the league games playing against some big names in european football.

 

I think we can sneak a result but no matter what happens we have acquitted ourselves well considering the age and inexperience of our team.

It will stand us in good stead for next year.

I'm not convinced that Hooper can play up front on his own. Samaras or Stokes for me.

 

This is how I see it. Not holding out for much against a good Udinese team but it will be a good learning curve for a young team. We have not shamed ourselves at all in what has been a very tough group

 

We have done very well to still be in for a chance of progressing into the knockouts from being 4th seeds in a right difficult group

Win, Lose or draw ill still be proud of our young lads on thursday

 

The only problem is we dont really have any strikers who play well up front by themselves, the only one really is sammy and he is hit and miss and tends to drop in too deep leaving us with zero options when the chances arise but whatever the team lets just give it our all.

 

Let's be honest, we won't win, but I expect us to at least put up a fight.

 

Think that wee Forrest is lost in Europe, not seen him have any good games - but I work a late during the week..I might be being unfair, anyway I'd leave him out.

Think we'll lose narrowly & go out with our heads held high, from a difficult group...

but theres been some * up results in Europe lately, so you never can tell.

Pity we didn't buy a lone striker, when we've not had one for * years.

Conor Sammon would've been a good buy I bet.

I think we will nick a 1-0 win after a udinese defencive error they they will get frustrated and get a player sent off and we will coast it.

I'm lookin and seeing everyone saying if we play 4-4-2 they will score 2 or 3.

IMO we have to play that formation. We need to go for it and we are out unless we win. If we play 4-5-1 we will not score full stop. Every goal we have scored in this competition so far we were playing with 2 up front.

We dont have enough support when we play 1, it looks like then our lone striker is running around like a headless chicken.

I don't know why anyone would include Ki considering his performances lately. He's 5th choice for that central midfield role in my opinion (Kayal, Wanyama, Ledley, Brown - in that order), slows play down and his passing (considering it's supposed to be his best attribute) has been absymal lately.

 

I can't see by Celtic but HEY! I never could
