We didn't play that bad I was actually happy with how we played but two stupid mistakes cost us.

And made another substitution after that. And blatant time wasting in between. I about wanted to see us win more for all the contemptible gamesmanship they were at than to actually get to the CL.

Unfortunately, we didn't punish them and we gifted goals. That's why we're not a Champions League team.

That bad luck of losing players at this stage is just unlucky. They caught us at a bad time. Injuries, failing to improve over the summer and Rodgers opening criticising the board's transfer dealings, and quite rightly so.

I hope Rodgers gives the board and Pedro a right rollocking for this and we go out and actually strengthen.

How easy would that tie have been with a decent defense?

What really * me off is that we "rested" players against the Diet Scum lost there and still * blew it.

"So important to qualify for the group stages" and we play like u-16s.

Still pretty * off man. I feel like "they weren't even a good team" is a pretty futile argument, if they were that bad and we couldn't get past them then we don't deserve to be in the CL.
They had injuries and players missing too and played a large chunk of the first match a man down away from home, imagine if that were us in that situation!
For all our possession and bluster, I actually felt like they were comfortable on the back foot for most of the tie and defended well and were well organised, something we could learn from.
Of course we need investment in key areas and the board are being rightfully slated for that but Brendan and his staff are due some criticism too.
We often struggle to break teams down and teams are happy to sit off us and let us have pointless possession until we make an * of it then they can pounce and get a goal they need seemingly at will. Athens did this to perfection and even domestic teams can and have done it.
Frustrating, hopefully this can be a turning point and we can kick on again.

Point is its easy to strengthen after we are out to appease the fans.that old proverb about after the horse has bolted comes to mind. And i want permanent fit healthy players who want to be here.not loans.sick of them.HH.

You have to wonder why we couldn't have signed any players to take part in these games other than Edouard.
It's a fine line. They didn't create many chances but were clinical. We weren't. We should have had players in who could defend eight against three. Lustig should be nudging the ball out for a corner, the cross is absolutely perfect.
We need better players in, and ifthey're loans we're making the same mistakes. One of the worst is surely Compper who's probably sitting chilling with Boyata. Paid for * all. But i don't see it changing.

Regarding useless possession, exactly. Teams have sussed out that they can let us pass it amongst the back four until Lustig hoofs it or we lose the ball. I haven't watched Scotland for a while, but teams were doing it to them too. We just don't have technically proficient players in this country.

I thought overall we were the better team we conceded 2 silly goals but in general play we were the better side If the board had sanctioned a couple of signings then we wouldn't be in this state. We had injuries at the wrong time if edouard and the moose had been upfront together we would be through. Boyata has to rot on the sideline I wouldn't even let that rat train at cp or Lennoxtown if he has went on strike

Another depressing thing is these 2 games are the first competitive games AEK have played ffs.

If we move forward with Hendry and Jozo as the centre halves double that.
