UCL Last 16: Celtic v Juventus Chat

Having Lichsteiner and Barzagli on Samaras will certainly limit the damage he can do in the air. Best way to make use of Samaras will be for him to not track Lichsteiner's runs forward and try to counter attack and run at Barzagli who isn't known for his pace.

There are very few weaknesses in Juventus' team from what I've seen but De Ceglie isn't great and if Forrest is up against him he will certainly give him a hard time. Never seen Peluso play to be honest but if Asamoah (a central midfielder) is being considered at wing back instead of him then he can't be a world beater.

I know he might not start for them but I can see Giovinco causing us problems if he appears at some stage. Bags of pace and Celtic Park will suit him due to it's size.

 

Pace on the other team is a thing that won't worry me. Our wing backs are rapid. Samaras is rapid, Forrest is lightning, hooper is fast over two steps lol, Izzy is like lightning, wanyamma is a wall so doesn't need to move. Passing through our defence won't work, I'd be worried about crosses as when we beat barca they were 2 foot tall. 3-2 Celtic.

Forrest just back from injury & is a maybe

Ambrose is at the ACN & is a maybe

WE don't really have a standard starting 11 as have 2 playable players for most positions

As you play a 3-5-2

I think we will go with something like this

4-3-3 when on attack & changing to the 4-5-1 when defending (not saying the exact team above will play)

bet there is 50% on who will disagree with me

 

I have a feeling we will go 3-5-2

Hey guys, I'm big Juve fan, but I've always fancy Celtic and respected the club because it's proud and iconic. Anyway, before the big Tuesday clash, I searched for Celtic forum so I could see what di you thing about encounter, and I found some really nasty comments that hurt me as Juventino, because I didn't know that people still talking about Calciopoli and stuff. I'm aware that football society outside the Italy (esspecially Britain) don't know much about it, but I can assure you that all evidences against Juve are discarded, but the Court can not return the tittles and wash the name of Juventus because it would led to massive punishment for the Italian FA and italian Court. Anyway, I'm glad I can see there are some guys that respect the name of Juve and know who are they facing (I'm not underestimating Celtic) and hope to watch great match (hopefully that Juve qualifies in 1/4 final). So, good luck, you have my full support in all other matches, except this one, and I'm sorry I can't come in Glasgow to have a pint of beer with some of you and watch the game. Cheers

4-3-3 stuff doesn't work....St Mirren? 3-5-2 for me, would be tempted to play matthews and mulgrew on the wings which would let them comfortably fall into a back 5 when needed .
