Feel free to read up about it if you're interested, it would do you a world of good. As the post below yours said, this is neither the time nor the place to discuss calciopoli, since 99% of people on this forum would have no interest in it. Suffice to say that not only were Juve never prosecuted for match fixing, they were never even accused of match fixing.

Actually he would be cup-tied as he played in Europa League proper. Players would only be eligible if they played in qualifiers only and not group matches. Same as Llorente had he signed now instead of on pre-contract.

Seriously made me laugh (not the second part about scumbag fans mind you)..

I was always under the impression Juventus cheated and were rightfully punished, in fact I admit I even used Juventus as an example to show the ineptitude of the SFA handling of the deceased Huns' situation.

Then I thought I should read into it a bit and I only did it briefly but it seems that Juventus feel it's within their right to challenge the title and if I'm correct they kept the "30" on their badge for the amount of Italian title's they'd won?
Don't like dismissing/down-talking clubs before we play them etc as we often get annoyed at English fans doing that to the Scottish leagues and every team within the structure. Fact is, Juve are a club with fantastic history and tradition who are back where they belong in world football, pity this is where they bow out for this season :icon_mrgreen:

Fair enough, mate. :50: Why were they relegated if it doesn't require too long an explanation? They were relegated, right? I haven't just made this up in my head, have I? :smiley-laughing002: Or do you have a link to some reading material?

I'll fire you a PM soon mate if you want? So it doesn't end up taking up half a page or changing the topic for a few pages :smiley-laughing002: :50:?

Calciopoli in a nutshell, for those asking: Juve were relegated and stripped of two titles because their managing director (Moggi) was found guilty of having 'inappropriate contact' with high officials in the referees' association (namely Bergamo and Pairetto). This contact was basically Moggi calling Bergamo and Pairetto after matches and complaining about how "the referee you gave us last weekend was rubbish, he cost us three points, don't give us that ref again".

Now I consider myself a fairly rational Juve fan, so I am able to recognise that this shouldn't be done and it was right to be punished. However, no Juve matches were fixed or under suspicion of being fixed at any stage. Furthermore, it later emerged that all other big Italian teams (Inter, Milan, Lazio, Fiorentina etc) were doing pretty much the same thing as Moggi, so Juve's defence is that they were simply actors in a shady system where everyone was guilty, rather than the cause of this system.

I don't want to clog up the thread with stuff that most people aren't interested in, so feel free to shut me up :smiley-laughing002: If anyone has any questions about it or wants to discuss it, feel free to PM me.

A lot of people don't care tbh, but regardless of that it still annoys me that so many people who over here are unwilling to believe what the mainstream media tells them but when it comes to something that can be used as an insult are only too happy to spout it as fact. :smiley-laughing002:

What's your opinion on Moratti's role? Probably best leaving me a PM or VM though, because we're starting to clog up the match thread. :50:

I'm quite happy to take it to PM's tbh, only JC-X has bothered not going with the MSM line when talking about it anyway. :50:

Start it up in World Football mate, I'd be interested to read it. All I know is that it was a * farce, that's besmirched the name of a great football club.

    Still... Antonio Conte though :fear:

Been living in Italy for the past 12 years, watch serie A every week and have no problem saying that IMO Juve get helped all the time, loads of controversial decisions always go their way. Easy penalties, no cards shown when they should be, goals that don't cross the line...
Performance enhancing drugs, match fixing, agents that bribe players and staff, easy wins when playing juve B teams like Siena and Palermo.
The famous Gianni Agnelli is the biggest tax dodger in the history of Italy, his nephews now own and run the show.
Only saying what I think personally and what every single italian that doesn't support juve thinks, even those that don't care about football.

Unfortunately not the case, but you're entitled to your opinion.
I'd be interested to know just how you have the entitlement to speak for "every single Italian" who doesn't support Juventus though.

With regards to the football matters you mentioned - sounds like pish to me. And that's also from someone who watches Serie A every week. Case in point the Juve-Milan cup tie the other month - where was the help when it literally resulted in a defeat, same with the Inter game which ended the home unbeaten run.

There's a difference between getting decisions go in your favour against smaller teams - which happens in every single league including our own, due to crowd pressure and indeed player pressure - and suggesting, especially given the history, that it's deliberate.

See to be honest, you sound like you could be talking about us as a fan of a wee Scottish team - I know I hear it all the * time in uni from the Hearts and Hibs fans I'm mates with.

Now you've obviously read the posts above yours, so anything else to say do what has been requested and move it to the appropriate thread (Serie A megathread) next time.

You mean Palermo who, prior to last season, Juve hadn't beaten in around 6 years? Or Siena who two seasons ago came from 3-0 down against Juve to draw 3-3?

What I meant was 99.9% of the italians I have talked to over the years about juve in general. I still sincerely feel that overall they have a lot more decisions go to them compared to all the other teams based on the last decade of watching games and replays and late night shows that in pure italian style go on forever.
Reading my first post again I can see what you mean by sounding like a wee spl team fan but thats really not the case, I FOLLOW empoli over here and they have a strong juve connection. Being a forum if I have a personal opinion I believe it does not have to be based on fact however I apologize as it sounds like you love juve just about as much as celtic :87:.

I'm embarrassed by this last few pages, especially the post referring to Juve as "the world's most corrupt club with scumbag fans". I didn't know the truth about the Juve thing, like a lot of other people I just unthinkingly accepted what I heard in the media. If nothing else I (and hopefully a few other people) learnt something here. Hopefully now we can go back to talking about our chances without outrageous insults (and hope that not many Juve fans ever read these last few pages).
