Spot on. One was bad enough but 2?...that was disaster waiting to happen...

I suppose Celtic understand the fans displeasure at the ticket price increase and perhaps this was an attempt to reconcile a bit.

The less non-ST holders get tickets, the better for Celtic. It further enhances the value of a season ticket by depriving them of these big games.

But even if a season ticket can buy 2 extra tickets, they arent going to take all 3 seats for themselves - they are just going to give them to their celtic supporting friends. And seeing as they are not season ticket holders themselves, they will likely be exactly the type of fan you are referring to. The only difference is that they got their friends to get them one, rather than getting one themselves.

Celtic are not depriving anyone of watching a big game out with the fact there are 55000 or so seats to fill, and apparently there were 100000 people after tickets.

Had they just made it an open sale after season ticket holders got theirs, would that be fair on fans who werent local, or were at work, or dont have easy access to the internet in order to get a ticket? There is no way I could justify taking a day off work, or get to celtic park for 6am either for that matter, to que for tickets. And seeing as I was in meetings all morning I couldnt stay on the phone for an hour or que online either. They cannot possibly please everyone in this instance - there was alwasy going to be people missing out the same as with every popular event.

I really dont see the issue.

Its mental the amount of * who wanted a ticket for this game, was it the same for the Milan and Barca Last 16 games? I went to them but cant mind if as much people wanted to go as they do now.

Looks like over 50,000 at least, according to the online ticket sales website.

This will be our first competitive game in about three weeks, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a jump in the attendance figure.

Yes they are. If you're not a season ticket holder, and you don't know anyone who is a season ticket holder, you're *. You have next to no chance of being able to attend this game. Meanwhile season ticket holders can quite happily snaffle up 3 tickets if they want to. It's unfair.

They could have sold the tickets the same way they do for any other game. Via the ticket office, by phone or through the online ticket office. If you're a fan and you can't find the time to buy a ticket when all those options are available to you then that's just unfortunate. At least the club would be trying to give as many fans as possible a chance to get a ticket, something they are clearly not doing by implementing this 'let's give all the tickets to the season book holders' system.

I was at those two games, and have got a ticket for Juventus, and there's no danger demand was the same. Every man and their dog was after a Juventus ticket, demand is/was mental.

    1) it was 2 tickets. Not 6, not 3, 2.
    2) No matter what way tickets were put on sale when supply outweighs demand people will be dissapointed. Look at the size of the queue on Thursday and that was with only season ticket holders and friends, can you imagine how big that would have been if it was a free for all?
    3) Celtic want people to buy season tickets. They need the money they bring in. So, naturally, they try and give season ticket holders every incentive possible without bringing down the price.
    4) If you are not a season ticket holder the all things considered, you can have no complaints. It may not be a perfect system Celtic had, but when it comes down to it Celtic are a business like any other, they need to make money and if it comes between * off the fans who "pick and choose" games and the season ticket holders who spend hundreds every year, the season ticket holders will win every day of the week.

I think this debate could go on right up until the Juventus game

Unfortunately theres no happy outcome for every fan out there.

Things arent going to change now so i think it just needs to be accepted and hopefully the bad feeling towards each other, particularly non season ticket holders to season ticket holders, will stop.

I thought it was three in total too? Your season ticket got your one seat per season ticket holder. Then if someone was lucky enough to get through on the phone or at the ticket office an additional two tickets per season ticket?

    1 season ticket + 2 extra tickets = 3 tickets.

So if you don't have a season ticket you don't have any right to complain?

Don't think so. There are more Celtic fans who don't own a season ticket than do. People WILL complain and they have every right to do so in this instance.

i dont know why people can understand first of all i agree season ticket holders should get first choice as they are seen to go all the time i agree with what celtic are doing their but to give them a extra two tickets (that could be given to people who hardly go to the games) prevented the people who splashed out on three match package that didnt come cheap from getting a ticket celtic doing that in my book undoes all the good work of giving season tickets holders first priority. its like here we will give loyal fans tickets but we will give them an extra amount that the next batch of loyal fans cant go

ahh I thought you meant they got 3 spare tickets, sorry my mistake.

But why should people that only paid for the other 3 big games get a ticket? why shouldn't people who paid for the SPL match packge get the same chance? Why shoul it be the case that youget to go to this game because you went to 3 group games? In my opinion, the people that paid for the 3 match package got their money's worth and their package ended after the spartak game, so they don't deserve priority.

Also, Season ticket holders got to buy 3 match packages so why wasn't anyone complaining then?

My main gripe wasn't the need for one since the huns were no longer about.

I had to give mine up as my ticket was with huns included and my renewal shot up pass 600+ quid without the huns and in my view that seemed a bit ridiculous.

add to that I got a new job were I had to work 6 weekends in a row so wasn't really viable.

But my first reason is probably why a lot of people gave theirs up.

Bullshit! It's one of the very few perks of forking out £550 for a season ticket. There's nothing unfair about it, people who put their money into Celtic get first dibs. I know unfortunately not every can afford a season ticket but that's life.

    I agree with this.

Some may find it unfair, but that's just how it is (and should be imo).
