Anybody who wants to see what Juventus are all about you can download their games in full from here http://forum.rojadirecta.es/search.php?searchid=3375179 .A few people have suggested they play stereotypical slow defensive minded Italian football but they couldn't be further from the truth. There closing down of the ball is superb and they play with a very high intensity, creating numerous chances every game. After seeing how we played away to Benfica where we could barely string 5 passes together i am worried it could be a very long night.....hopefully Lennon sets us up well and the players pull off another performance to be proud of.

Celtic and Juventus actually are quite similar, both with good young managers who were former players, both even midfielders and captains of the teams. We also have similar styles of play and players in those positions, we dont always play 3-5-2 but we have played it about 10 times in 2012, including in our last 3? I think games.

Ive seen a lot of Juventus and am obviously a Celtic fan and I agree with you id rate Juve as the 4th best team in the world and say you have a good chance of winning it, id probably even pick the final to be Barca V Juventus as it would be a good clash of styles.

    Buffon - Forster
    Barzagli - Ambrose
    Bonucci - Wilson
    Chiellini - Mulgrew
    Lichtsteiner - Lustig
    Vidal - Kayal
    Pirlo - Wanyama
    Marchisio - Brown
    Asamoah - Ledley
    Giovinco - Commons
    Vucinic - Samaras

We could basically match you like for like, those Celtic players are all very similar styled to the Juventus ones except Pirlo and Wanyama are totally different, we had a Pirlo like player Ki but sold him but other than that those line ups if they were to play would be so similar to each other.

We like you also have a strong defence and goalkeeper and a lot of good midfielders who are mostly centre-mids.

Ach their's a lot of hype surrounding Juve, they a re a tough powerful team, they setup similar to Barca, but it's slightly tweaked to be more direct. That makes it a tougher game.

I still can't see them winning at Celtic Park and i reckon we'll get a draw away from home.

2-1 at home 2-2 away. Tough game, but we like upsets and Tony Watt will raise * against that dodgy back three. When was the last time Juve came up against 7 in mdifield, and that 7 never gave away a goal or a free-kick all night.

We are up and coming, we represent the smaller leagues, at some point, you guys are gonna be like, "What the * is happening here?"

We've got nothing to lose and everything to gain. When Celtic score at home, teams can crumble. You know you can say, ooooh we have players that play for Italy and played in the final, we can handle this. But, can they? For each game, when we go further in Europe the noise gets cranked up. And i'm sorry, but the Italian national team just don't face up to that atmosphere. If we go 1 up, it's absolute happy insanity.

The only time I seen people say that on this message board is when Juventus ''fans'' came on to take digs at us. It is a natural reaction when fans of another team slate your own.

The way your fans behaved in 81 and 2001 may also play a factor towards some of the negativity. Not to mention the last time we played you cheated us out of Europe by diving.

They dont play like Barca at all.

    They set up like

    Buffon

    Barzagli Bonucci Chiellini

    Lichtsteiner -------Pirlo-------- Asamoah
    ------Vidal ----Marchisio
    Giovinco
    Vucinic

With Vidal and Marchisio who are both astute defensively but also are free to get forward, Vidal has a great shot from outside and Marchisio is more a player who arrives in the box to score. Pirlo sits and dictates play, often sending Lichtsteiner or Asamoah down the line and Giovinco roams behind Vucinic who although isnt much of a goalscorer is a good liink up player who is good on the ball. They are a solid outfit who are all technically good. The only weakness they have is up front, if they had Ibrahimovic for example instead of Vucinic then you would say theres no-one really better apart from Barca theyd be on a par with Bayern and Madrid and even though they dont have that world class forward they'll still score enough goals to beat anyone.

I dont think many of our fans realise how good they are.

Not that we cant knock them out though we could knockout anyone but if Juventus won the competition it wouldnt be a shock imo they are one of only 4 teams who can do it

They are a great team no doubt mate.

But better than the majority of other teams left in the competition? Probably not.

I am glad they are getting hyped up so much though, the more we are written off, the better chance we have of winning! It's the Celtic way.

Any team we would get at this stage would be tough as nails.

Maybe Malaga would have been a little easier, but I want Celtic to be on the centre stage of the CL playing one of the best.

I think they are better than the majority.

Us aside as no-one can compare to the best team in the Universe :86:

Id rate the teams left as

    1. Barcelona
    2. Bayern Munich
    3. Real Madrid
    4. Juventus
    5. Dortmund - if none of those top 5 win it I will be totally stunned after them theres a big drop in quality
    6. Man Utd
    7. Shakhtar
    8. Porto
    9. PSG
    10. Malaga
    11. Schalke
    12. Valencia
    13. Milan
    14. Arsenal
    15. Galatasaray

What i meant was the system was originally based on barca's 4-1-4-1, they played this way for a while then tweaked it. Similar to Barca, they play a possession game and close up on the oppositions defense, trying to force a mistake.

But, if they have to they will play the ball long.

They don't seem to be good as last season though. They didn't lose a single league game last season, they have lost two already this season.

So the whole ''we have only lost two games in two seasons'' is just outright misleading.

I wouldnt call u a glory hunter mate you could have picked any team in the world who are competing for major European honours on a yearly basis like Barcelona, AC Milan or Man United but instead you chose to support a team that endeared themselves to you by how they operate off the field aswell as on it. :50:

I was wondering what Man U where doing so far up that list, Shaktar, Malaga and PSG have been evidently better in the champions league this season. :icon_mrgreen:

All I know is ilovetheceltic knows juve and he sees where I am coming from, whereas I think you are misinfromed about the team you have been drawn against. I came on this forum to learn about celtic and im glad someone explained your strenghts from his point of view.

I'm worried about celtic I know they can do us over two legs, but I get the distinct impression you are not nearly as worried as you should be. Celtic park is a big weapon for you, but we went to ukraine to the donbass arena where shakhtar have an insane record- and we won. This team is not there to make up the numbers and get as far as possible, they have their eyes firmly on that trophy and the chances of them winning it are real.

I personally like the Juve system, 3 centre backs, two wing-backs who like to get forward and offer most the attacking theat, a deep play-maker, two solid hard working midfielders and two attackers with an eye for goal...... hold on a minute, have they been watching video's of Martin O'Neil's Celtic????

Yes!! I love the teams community service and charity. One reason why this club is so dear to me is the fan support, they (you all are very friendly and are cool with anyone that is not a tool). In the past I tried to find an English Club to support but I can't the fans are either jerks (since I am an American) or the teams are way too popular here in the US and I don't wan't to be a sheep.
