Re-watching the Sopranos with my youngest.. no1 for me.. Breaking Bad, no2

He didn't think Sopranos would top BB but he has it at no1 now..

Game of Thrones is hard to top too

 

I never got round to watching that!

I struggled to get into The Sopranos because it seemed so dated when I tried, but it's on my list to give it another go. Watched the first 7 episodes of GoT and didn't get into it. Can't be arsed trying again with GoT because of how much folk hated the ending. Breaking Bad is genius though.

 

Same for me years back and I was way behind, I'm old so that might have helped but I don't get into series easily. it's one Im really glad I stuck with, lots of the characters/episodes are amazing. GOT probably never happening as I'm not generally into the fantasy type stuff (sorry to the fans!)

 

Take it you've not watched The Wire?

 

I haven't. I downloaded it but the copy I downloaded was poor quality video, so I never got started with it.

 

My opinion - nothing compares. If you get the chance worth checking out.

Slightly off-piste but also thought Halt & Catch Fire was excellent and I think now on ITVX.

She's never seen Breaking Bad, so just started watching that again. Forgot how good it was.

 

Do yourself a favour and stop after season 6. Last two seasons (particularly the final season) are a shambles.

It went from being the most discussed piece of media to absolutely nobody talking about it all within about 6 months of it ending.

At its best it was the best thing I’ve ever seen on TV. Comfortably. Can’t actually bring myself to rewatch it because the ending is so dire.

 

Superb show
