Hearing/reading the words 'giving someone the vicky' for the first time in at least 25 years. Sublime.

Revisiting an old Floyd album that you haven't listened to in a good while and no matter how many times you've heard it before you still think "dam that * good"

Album was Wish you were here.

    Dam that * is good.

I do like my Floyd, always have. But I find most of their stuff... MEH! As do most people I know. You a proper fan? I just can't dig their really early stuff.

I'm like this, apart from Pipers at the gate.. just can't get into some of their early albums. Like a few songs .. From Meddle to The Final Cut I think they're near flawless.

    What's a proper fan? :smiley-laughing002:

Depends what albums your listening to that are considering meh?

The thing with Floyd is that you can't really listen to a song here and a song there, you really need to sit and listen to the album.

Meddle is pretty much when Pink Floyd hit their stride, Echoes was the turning point.

One album I really can't stick is Atom heart mother, even the band have said they are embarrassed by it.

I can't get into Pink Floyd which is weird because one of my favourite songs is a cover of "Wish you where here".

If Syd had not been kicked out the band, I doubt there would have been a Dark Side of The Moon, Wish You Were Here, even elements of The Wall. Syd would have took them in a real quirky direction, it would have been fascinating, but I don't think Syd had it in him for the long term.

Barrett sort of haunts Pink Floyd, his breakdown in a way made all the greatness that followed him possible.
