Been up all night (I live abroad) having a panic attack, never had one before. I've had pretty bad insomnia for weeks and it's led to this.

I can't call in sick because I've been off/been late cos of the lack of sleep a few times recently. I've got three weeks left in my job and if I get the sack now I won't get the holiday pay I've collected over six months and vitally need for when I'm travelling the next two months. At the same time I can't face a 10 hour shift like this.

I don't know what to do, freaking out tbh.

Edit: My heartbeat/brain is going like the clappers and I'm absolutely exhausted at the same time, how is that even possible?

Oh dear....not a good day then.....mines can be like that....my dads family...not to that extent that happened with yours but there is nearly always an altercation when they are all together.

At the moment they are being over bearing....don't see them for yonks...now they are swarming round like bees to a honey pot:87:

Panic attacks will exhaust you....after the adrenaline rush your body will want to rest...you might feel as though your muscles ache like they would after strenuous exercise.

Try to relax yourself by taking deep breaths and releasing it slowly....concentrate on doing that....it might help.

I hope you feel better soon....if it's becoming a problem you should speak to your GP.... Best way to use up the adrenaline to help limit attacks is exercise.

My wife suffered from panic attacks,a real horrible thing to see and hard to deal with.

Breathing into a brown paper bag was one trick she tried and helped a bit.

    Thanks.

It's calmed down a lot now so I think it's pretty much finished, although my heartbeat is still racing.

To make things even better, as I'm in a country that doesn't have free healthcare (and I was stupid enough not to get travel insurance) merely seeing a doctor will cost me an absolute fortune.

I think I urgently need some time off to do nothing but sleep when I want for a few days, but I can't see my work allowing it. I might just go in this morning and tell them exactly what's going on.

    Cheers man.

Yeah its not nice at all....I used to get them for no apparent reason....would get the feeling of impending doom before hand then the palpitations and shakes...thankfully I've not had one for a good while...last time I had something similar was when I whited after having some weed to help with my pain.....won't do that again :52:

I never got involved at all in any fights and just tried to calm things with my immediate family and let the rest of them carry on..
Not a great day at all but i did get great satisfaction seeing my cousins man kissing the pavement as he under paid me for some work..

It always simmers with my dads side and more often than not, well outta order things get said and occasionally someone gets hit.
I can't be arsed with them much anymore, the most two faced people out there can be family..

Also if you have taken anything lately morphine based, morphine withdrawals can cause these attacks.

Wise to stay clear and try to keep your immediate family out of it....let the rest get on with it.

Haha that would have helped make up for your lost money :50:
