The money spent in the run up. Not even presents. All the trimmings mean you spend an extra couple of hundred that you can ill afford. Not usually Bah Christmas but this year I can't wait for it to be over. Not feeling it. No air of excitement and kids don't know these days what it's like to wait on your presents on Christmas Day. From September onwards we never got gifts or new trainers etc. (Birthdays excluded)

Spoke to a few people today and was the consensus. Kids just don't get it. A big part of Christmas for us as kids was all this great food and snacks being bought for Christmas. Stuff we normally couldn't afford. Ffs this is food we are talking about, let alone * loads of expensive toys kids get now.
I remember my ma one year picking me up at school one day as she got me a new pair of trainers as my old ones had holes in them. I remember her face she was all excited so I thought I was getting a pair of Nike even hey-tec. Nah they were a pair of nicks, scundered ffs lol but by * she loved me and made me feel like I was wearing Nike. And hey there was people poorer than us in th the area.
Even the tree and decorations now are like fashion accessories. I keep threatening her that I'm getting * loads of tinsel and multi coloured bulbs next year lol

Aye, my mate bought his 4 year old a new bike in November. Brilliant Christmas gift but he just splashed out on it a month in advance.

I hardly do Christmas. I buy presents for about 5 people but I don't decorate the house or even have a tree. Thankfully my girlfriend thinks it's all a crock of * too.

Too much materiality about it these days and people try to show off saying how much they spend at christmas, its not a competition.

Ever since i went to uni/ got a full time job its been about food and family. As if there is something i want that i can afford then i will buy it. If there is something i want i can't afford why would i ever expect a family member to get it for me?

Funnily enough I think the complete opposite.

I was having a ham shank at how good we were then all of a sudden * popped up. Hard on gone.

Raging. Mood wise, not hard on wise.

Loving it this year. My daughter is at the age where she is old enough to fully appreciate it all but still young enough that she believes in Santa.

Going to Loch Lomond Shores tomorrow for a Santa experience then out for some scran, back home for a bath/shower then bed to watch Polar Express.

    Love this time of year.

To be perfectly honest, I was laid on the couch watching the stream, took me about 2-3mins to actually take notice that it was * I ended up watching.

Not that I didn't realise that I was watching some tidy latino chiquita munching on some cracker honky's fuckstick, but more like it took me a few moments to realise I hadn't noticed I wasn't watching the fitba :56::56::56::56:

I had to show the missus the comments in the match thread to prove I wasn’t trying to knock a quick one out whilst she was sticking the festive duvet set on.

I was genuinely howling though because I had the laptop at 100 for the sound :56::56::56:

I can see how she might have construed that.

Thank * I was on my lonesome whilst that came on, or I'd have been stabbed.

    Hopefully it's a conservative Christian-type place.

So I’ve been dating this girl for a bit who’s clearly fallen for me a lot harder than I have for her, although she is a decent lass, albeit a bit intense...

Then I get a message out of the blue off a girl I’ve always had a thing for, but we never really spoke or spent much time together when we were at Uni up until 3 years back.

She messaged me on Snapchat after I posted a snap of myself in a wedding suit (groomsman) saying how hot I looked and stuff (*?). Anyways, a few (on my part) innocent messages later she’s asking me to go to Amsterdam with her.

Obviously I’m loyal as * to the current lass (who deep down I’m unsure of, due to other circumstances), and don’t have it in me to cheat or even think about it due to hating any shred of guilt. It’s that old Catholic upbringing I guess...

So I have to turn the Amsterdam offer down, knowing that it’s 99% likely to mean that it’ll stop any contact in the future from said other lass, (who incidentally is 1 out of 3 girls in my life that I’ve had pretty strong feelings for, long term).

See the thing is, if this girl messaged me 6 weeks back instead it would be class and a no-brainer, but it always seems like the girls I have strong feelings for approach me when I’m with someone else, yet aren’t arsed when I’m single.

    Women ffs! :56:

Sounds like you may be with your current bird for the wrong reasons. Are you sure you haven’t pied her off because you don’t want to hurt her? 6 weeks is a very short period of time too. Still early days to say it isn’t working out and soften the blow.

Mate, if this girl that’s got in touch really is one of your top 3 then it’s something you don’t want to regret. You’re right to turn down the Amsterdam trip whilst you have a girlfriend, but why would that be the end of contact? Can’t you politely decline and explain your situation, if she does like you she will understand. Best way to go about things is be honest with everyone, including yourself.

Genuinely never heard that phrase before I saw it in here and never bothered to look it up but from the wanks that use it in here I think I understand what it is supposed to mean.

The reason I’ve not pied her off as you say is because I don’t want to hurt her as she’s fallen pretty heavy for me and I’m * at being brutal sometimes! Also, a lot of people are mentioning she’s way out my league so I guess that’s a bonus, but looks certainly aren’t everything!

See the thing is, she’ll be moving to York in March for Uni. Which is the other side of England to me, and I don’t really fancy a long distance thing. So I have the intention of letting her know that, and I’ve subtlly dropped some hints.

To be fair I’ve played it quite coy and sidestepped the question anyway, so hopefully it won’t be the end of any contact. But in my experience it does normally work that way, I swear girls find guys they know are with other girls to be more desirable!

Cheers for the advice though bud!
