I was there; I was also at Strachan's last game v hearts, the 0-0 draw. Let's just say I'd rather go to the Motherwell game everyday of the week than that hearts game. It was the single must rancid atmosphere i've ever experienced at celtic park, probably one of the most horrible days I've ever had as a Celtic fan.

Gimme the huddle over that any day. :huddle:

What a stupid post, obviously I want to see the title return home. I'm chomping at the bit to see us lift the league trophy and have been for 3 years now!

    Hear hear.

That hearts game was rotten, walked away feeling deflated and tbh pretty apathetic.

Contrast that with the Motherwell game, I walked away feeling ten feet tall, and extremely proud of my team.

Ive no doubt you enjoyed it...& no i wasnt there..im unemployed & can only make 5-6 games tops a season since i moved here 5 years ago but if i was im afraid i wouldnt have joined in.. i joined in during the 3-0 huns game cos we actually had something to celebrate... i know the celebration that day might have been as some sort of defiance but truth is we are sending the wrong signals out about what we should be demanding from our club!!

the truth is depressing but & all the singning, huddling & goodwill in the world isnt going to turn a young novice manager into a manager capable of winning the league..especially when said manger is so stubborn he wont change things when its obvious to each & every one of us that he has got it wrong in so many crunch games!!

I love Lennon, I love Celtic and I love talking about them. This makes me, like you and everyone else, one of their toughest critics. Failure at Celtic is not an option. Walter Smith once said both Old Firm managers are only ever 3 results from the boot. For fans to demand better, when what we've been receiving has been poor, is acceptable. Lofty opinions are one of the best things about football. I know it's not the slating your going on about, more the name calling and questions on his professional integrity. But people are hurting and angry. Yet many, seem to have the blind spot when it comes to Lennon.

Some of our results and performances, going way back to the last month of last season, have been very poor. We have not brought in a single player during the summer, for immediate first team improvement. We have increased our squad and brought in some young guys, but no immediate, usable quality to go straight in to improve the team.

Team selection has been strange. Consistent players dropped. Tactics chopped and changing all the time. Zonal Marking. Samaras.

It baffles me on two fronts. The first is that some want people to lay off Neil Lennon, which is something I cannot see any other manager being afforded. The second is that your not used to seeing this kind of reaction from disgruntled fans. Fans who struggle to make ends meet. Fans who pay a lot of money to follow the team.

That money seems to have bought us sub-par players, a rookie on loan for a number 1 keeper, a rookie manager, a rookie back-room team.

Lennon is the man in charge at the moment. The man who makes decisions. Those decisions have been poor. He's the man to motivate the players. The players motivation has been poor. He's the man to instill fight and a winning mentality to the players. The players are lacking in that area. He's the man in charge and the one who gets it in the neck when it goes wrong. Just like every manager before him.

At what stage are we allowed to start pointing fingers and who do we point them at?

I was at both games too, and you are absolutely right in your descriptions of both of them. The Motherwell game left me feeling immensely proud and a true, true part of the Celtic family.

Well said.. for me you can blame the players.. the managment team & ultimately the board.. & like ive been saying i think we as fans need to be more demanding.. next time we need a manager who is tactically minded not just celtic minded.. thats a nice bonus but that should be all it is... & not a prerequisite!

The huddle against motherwell was all about defiance; especially in a season when our manager had been the victim of attempted murder. Read that again; attempted murder. And some folk want to belittle the 60,000 who went to show their support for the man and the team? were they all wrong to do that then?

it wasn't about 'celebrating defeat'; it was about showing that no matter what * folk will throw at our club we will always stand up for our club when its under attack, as it literally was last season.

do some people honestly think the players looked around and thought "wow this is great, we finish second and we get this? cool that means i can play * next year then as its ok" no way; they would have been thinking "christ almighty, just imagine what this place will be like when we win it".

but so far this season they are all letting us down so lets stop supporting them because we're going through a bad patch ; no wonder fans of the diddy clubs brand many of us 'gloryhunters' when every setback has people baying for blood.

of course, there are questions that need answered and neil has to come up with them quick; but the man will always have my respect.

He has more than earned it.

There are certain things I wont sacrifice for success on a football field. One of them is loyalty to a man who has given the last 10 years to Celtic, most of which were successful.

I also will not act like a spoiled baby because we happen to be second best to the huns at this point in history. I am too long in the tooth to worry about that. We will be back on top sooner or later.

I am just thankful that I am one of "us" and not one of "them", and I'll act accordingly.

It's far more than 90 minutes on the pitch for me.

I think this reply is very extreme and does not really have a grasp on the issues, for whom your retort is based.

Firstly, nobody was, as you say, trying to belittle, or take away from, the team or the 60,000 fans at the Motherwell game. The person only pointed out that when other people said they where proud of the team that day, it was not for footballing merits and more to do with all the reasons you listed above.

Secondly, is demanding success gloryhunting? Is demanding that the club with the highest turnover, profits, history, support base and stadium in Scotland provide success to the fans who pay for the whole sha-bang? I don't think it is. Is getting angry and upset, when a thing very dear to you lets you down, make you less of a fan, than say, those who stay resolutely calm and support Neil Lennon through thick and thin? I don't think so.

im not belittling anyone who did the huddle - it looked amazing & i understand the reasoning behind it... just think it did give out the wrong signals.. no im not saying the players thought exactly that but sub conciously im sure it had that effect.. youd get comfortable as a player knowing that even if you * up & let down your fans..- as our team did last season - then the fans are still gonna party anyway..well it doesnt exactly give you a kick up the * does it...

and who cares what other teams fans think of us i couldnt give a *.. its well known that as a celtic fan we want to be above rangers as much as possible... in fact we should have had the * dead and buried by now with there financial state.. instead we * it up season after season lately yet we are still blindly told to keep the faith in a clueless manager well forgive me but in lennon i dont trust simple as that!

Nonsense. It showed the difference between Celtic fans and other football fans. I'd happily be a Celtic fan in the Scottish 3rd division. I doubt whether many on here would reading the comments.

Cowdenbeath fans are obviously more faithful and loyal than Celtic fans if we are to take this thread ( and others) in to account.

I feel sorry for Neil in all this *, looking back to pre-season, how much time between being in Australia and playing all other friendlies did he have to look at transfer targets ? how many targets was he told were 'outwith our reach' . Surely to * he tried to sign another CB. Then there was that young Polish keeper. He has been backed but I feel the board let him down this summer and also feel we should stop with all these tours till we have our house in order.

Will never tell him to * off or call him any bad names, but this season has been atrocious and the blame lies with either him or the board... or the players who seem to be taking the huff if rumours are to be believed. Something isn't right.

you tell me whats more important? club or lennon? i know full well the bullshit he has taken so do not patronise me there.
the bottom line something has to change and if this means the removal of lennon? then it has to be. no one is bigger than celtic even lenny knows this himself. this is a results buisness remember, and so far results have been * poor,

i want lenny to suceeed, but so far this season we are almost in the * wether you or anyone else wishes to admit it or not,im behind lenny but as i have stated now for the 3rd time! changs must be made before we lose this league once more to a * infested hun team going.

I felt proud at the way we all (support, players, management) dealt with the ridiculous sideshow that shamed this sectarian backwater.

Check the nick of that, downplaying Neil Lennon's contribution and affiliation with Celtic.

What a riddy, the pair of you's.
