So by the end of this transfer window we'll have spent 15.5million on players, wages on top of that could take it to what £23million. Aye right. It'll be one more guy around 2.5million and bargain basement signings.

We'll have sold Kelvin for 1.5million and brought in a guy at £3million because high transfer fees guarantee quality? Really you would like us to lose our best defender, when he and Ambrose are starting to look like a good partnership in defense? That would be about the most insanely stupid thing we could do.

Most of our team last season came in free or cheap, their's no real need to change that. We've added some decent quality and we'll bring in good players, just not at the price people think.

It would mark a complete change in direction, a very, very dangerous direction. Say for example, we spent all this money and still didn't qualify, what position does that put the club in?

We'd have spent 15.5million to win the SPL.

Free transfers have been good to us in the past. Andre Moritz would provide decent cover for Kayal. Kayal's on good form and should he pick up a wee injury, we'd have a guy who can come straight in to that position. He's fast and skillful, always looking for a pass and another set piece specialist.

Played in England and Turkey, so knows the physical side of the game too.

Maybe not a super exciting signing but a good solid pro with vision and touch.

Estigarribia at 5million euros is a strange one. He's fast and certainly good for crosses.
My guess is we'd play him in the left back slot. For that he could be fantastic cover for Izzy, with the added option of being able to play any position up the left hand side.

It's a lot of money to shell out, and his valuation is way too high in my opinion.
He looks sloppy on the ball.

Don't see a problem with that if they are good players.

No we would have spent 10-15 million o qualify for the champions league and try to progress as a club. We need to stop thinking about how much is required to win our league. At the moment we don't need new players to win the league for the next two years at least.

What we do need is new players to consistently qualify for he champions league and he minimum 20M quid that goes with it.

I agreed with you evilbunny. we need top players for the Champions League. We can win the league handy, but the Champions League because of the money it generates is vitally important to the club.

Well this what i disagree with. The time to have went down this road was weeks ago. Two things, i think we have enough quality about us to beat Elfsborg over the two legs. A decent draw in the final round and we have a good chance to qualify, get this, without the help of any of the new players.

The other thing is, would it be wise to go into a qualifier with all these new guys in the team, making there debuts or after a few games during friendly season?

It's exactly just as likely to get us knocked out than to get us through.

All i see right now is the team playing good football in a good system. Changing the personnel right now is a high risk strategy.

My thinking is these signings are for the group stages and that's when they will come into play.

Well Kayal338, you are right on the money.

Michy Batshuayi is the real deal, on the verge of being the next big talent in the Jupiler pro league.

He's the sort of guy i would be happy to shell out big money on. The perfect guy to play next to Balde, if you wanted to go down that road, and would fit with all the other players in the team.

I'd be happy to go 3-5million on a guy who could break the transfer fee record. It's the only reason we'd do it.

Not sure if I'd take Finnbogason, don't trust players with a great scoring record in the Dutch league. Every time I see the results from that league, there's always 5 or 6 high scoring games. They don't believe in defending.

For players on the market right now Hosiner is probably the safest bet as a replacement for Hooper. If it's to come straight into the team and get goals, to play in the qualifiers this is the one you'd go for. Already scored 2 in 2, so he's scoring already.

Thats from John Collins saying that we were buying a Tunisia international but Saber Khelifa is a Tunisian international and we have actually been linked with him. I think the Sammi Alligui will just be guess work.
