Yeh but Hinkel does not want to stay in his last year of contract so makes sence to cash in on him than lose him for nothing ,

NEIL LENNON is ready to swoop for Republic of Ireland ace Steven Reid.

The Blackburn Rovers midfielder was at Parkhead last night for talks as he tries to seal a shock switch.
Reid, who's been dogged by injuries, is available on a free.
Crystal Palace star Darren Ambrose could also be a target if Lennon lands the Hoops hotseat.
The caretaker gaffer - whose side take on German outfit St Pauli tonight - wants more British and Irish players.
Reid ended the season on loan at West Brom and the Baggies are keen to keep him.
The lure of linking up with Irish pals Aiden McGeady and Darren O'Dea at Parkhead would be strong, however.
Englishman Ambrose hit 20 goals from midfield for Palace last term as they dodged relegation from the Coca-Cola Championship.
The Eagles look set to cash in on the £1.5million-rated former Newcastle man this summer.
Wolves and QPR have been linked with moves for Ambrose but Hoops scouts have also watched him in action.

I would take young James Vaughen from Everton. £1 million quoted for going to Leicster of who ever he was on loan with.

alot of rumour sites saying ZZ of to preston, just thought id throw it in.found this too

Celtic Shortlisted Targets Should Neil Lennon Stay On:

GK: John Ruddy, Gunnar Nielsen, Kasper Schmeichel
DF: Kelvin Wilson, Luke Young, Greg Cunningham, Stephen Carr, Jose Goncalves, Nedum Onuoha, Javier Garrido, Garry Kenneth, Curtis Davies, Bernard Mendy, David Murphy, Habib Beye, Edson Braafheid, Nicky Shorey
MF: Landry N'Guemo, Abdisalam Ibrahim, Steven Reid, Darren Ambrose, Craig Conway, Danny Swanson, Semir Stilic, Joe Ledley, Martin Petrov
FW: Robbie Keane, Gary Hooper, Steven Fletcher, Nicky Maynard, Diomansy Kamara, Anthony Stokes, Valeri Bojinov

It seems Lennon is going to try and make use of the expected clear–outs at Manchester City and Aston Villa as well as bring in some Young British and Irish talent in the way Strachan did.

Most likely to be up for sale will be Boruc, Hinkel, Naylor, Samaras, Fortune, Zhi, Mizuno, McManus, Hutchinson. A possible income of £10m from these sales.

A Small list of affordable players:

    Jose Concalves - Hearts (Free)
Tsepo Masilela - Maccabi Haifa (South African Left Back)

    James McCarthy - Wigan ATH
    Landry N'Guemo - AS Nancy
Steven Reid - Blackburn Rovers (Free)
    Laryea Kingston - Hearts (Free)

    David Goodwillie - Dundee United
    Diomansy Kamara - Fulham

    Extra's:
Abdoulaye Faye - Stoke City (Not the one that played for Rangers)
    Nadir Belhadj - Portsmouth
    Aaron Mokoena - Portsmouth

    Prince Buaben - Dundee United
    Damien Duff - Fulham

    Ross McCormack - Cardiff City
    Steven Fletcher - Burnley
    Robbie Keane - Tottenham

Tis just a handful of players that I thought of, I know some of them we wouldn't be able to afford, or if we could would have to sell players before hand. The reason I put in Laryea Kingston & Jose Concalves, they are good players who done well for Hearts & well for Free transfers you cant grumble, its going to be a transfer window where we will have to find some bargins, but also players than can stand up & be counted..

Danny Swanson ? mentioned in a recent previous post. Always impresses me. Would have him on our right flank. Really decent player.

Id love to see Gary O'Connor at paradise a big strong centre forward & would work well with Keane (if we keep him) & I think he's out of contract in the summer.

I think James McCarthy would b a good shout coz I cant see him being a first team regular down at wigan & saw that maniche is out of contract he would add a bit of european experience in there.

Damien Duff, Paul Dixon, Gary Kenneth, Anthony Stokes,Giovanni Da Santos & alot might not agree here but would love toc Sol Campbell here he is free & SPL would be a walk in the park 4 him.

    :50::50:- O'Connor

McCarthy is a regular mate. Took him 6 months but he has came into the team and some good form from christmas to the seasons end.

Mcleish wants O'connor to sign a new deal, dont think we got a chance.

think we should pick off talent from relegated clubs and man city who will be clearing out.
