Not exactly the ideal replacement though is it for a guy who we rely on for a good majority of our goals. 25 goals in 112 games. I always thought he was a winger or support striker rather than an out and out centre forward. Was not exactly prolific in Australia either.

Infact I never realised he had such a poor goalscoring record. Seems to do well every time I see him aswell. I guess playing for Dusseldorf doesn't help his record, however he still leads the line well for them. Ideal repacement IF he starts to score more often:50:

Good player don't get me wrong. I actually suggested him earlier on in this thread, think a few people have. If we could get him I would like to see him brought in to play on the wing though, don't really see him as ever being an out and out goalscorer like Hooper.

I'd love to see James McLean here one day. If he ever falls out of favour at Sunderland I'd love for us to have a go at trying to get him. fast, direct and powerful. Grabs a good few goals too. Just a shame we couldn't get him before he left Derry City. Just our luck, we got Mcginn and McCourt but the best one out of all 3 manages to slip away.

Shane Long will enter the last year of his contract with WBA at the end of the season, similar to Gary Hooper. Maybe we could swop him for Hooper who wants away to the EPL in the summer by the looks of it.

Don't know what Long's wages are, he's being linked with Lazio and Seville according to the Beeb. Do clubs like Lazio and Seville pay a lot more than we do in terms of salaries?

Lazio yes, Sevilla I have no clue but being a decent La Liga side I would imagine so. They have some players on their books who I would imagine to be on big wages. I doubt he would go to either tbh, especially Lazio, don't think he is good enough personally.

Sevilla seems a bit more likely.

Apparently all free agents this summer. Think we could and should go for Matt Phillips, would be an outstanding addition. Few another names I'd take. Couldn't hurt to try go for Hangeland.

If we got Solvi Ottesen of Copenhagen FC in the summer it would solve our centre back dilemma once and for all.

note; frazier Campbell joined Cardiff in January, so he shouldn't be on this list.

Di Santo would a good target man.

Just copy and pasted it, didn't notice him. Holtby was in it too but took him out.
