    Totally agree.

No disrespect but the Indonesian League is realtively unheard of as are most if not all Indonesian players, at least unheard of over here. Not saying for a minute that they don't have any good players, of course they do. As you said though, I have faith in John Park.

    What about him?

If the point you are making is that you hadn't heard of any hondurans before him then I would point to figueroa and palacios who were playing at a decent level before we signed izzy. But i think you are misinterpreting what I was trying to say. I'm not argueing that a good player can't come out of a bad league I'm simply pointing out that the israeli league is much better than the indonesian league.

What I'm saying is it's not a big league that any of us would have heard about; indeed many of the same things were getting said about Emilio because of the league he was in.

Another example, George Weah coming out of a Liberian League, played for Mighty Borille, Invincible Eleven, Africa Sports and Tonnerre Yaoundé before signing for Monaco.

Yeah I agree. I'm just saying that the Honduran and Israeli leagues are a lot better than the Indonesian leagues. However, many young African and South American players go over to Asia so there could be some talent in there. But at the moment the chances of us signing an Indonesian are slim (both cause of work permits and ability). However, there is a Dutch influence to Indonesian football and they have over 200 million people. So one day they will probably be a footballing force.

I know where you are coming from, the work permit should be easy. He's starting to get capped for his national team so he should be able to get a work permit.

I'm waiting on what Uncle Ho is going to say on it, he's from the neck of the woods.

I was taking that off of Twitter so realise it's not the best of sources. Although Wiki's the same to be fair :56:

All I'm saying is that I trust John Park and it doesn't matter what nationality you are if you are a good player.

Wouldn't be surprised if there's been a few eyes turned to the 3rd division this season. What with Sevco being down there and everything.

Think if l had the choice l would go for Liam Kelly rather than some guy from the Indonesian league as he has proven experience in the SPL.

    Let The People Sing,
A kinda know ricki ( couple year below him at school ) and for the schoo; fitba team he was unreal, also in the games against rangers this season he has been standout for me both games. Maybe a little bit bias because i kinda know him but * it, he has been. He's a rangers lad right enough so joining the ayrshire huns widnae surprise me plus as he stays in stevenston, its only 10-15 minutes to killie so easier to get to than glesga for him.

And obviously its a major step up. P.s I wouldn't mind liam kelly as cover,

I think I'd go for a random, I've enjoyed the biggest majority of our random signings :56:

That would be like going for Garry Hay instead of Emilio. Sometimes you have to take the risks to get the rewards.

Under no circumstances should we be signing Liam Kelly. As average as players come.

I know what your saying but we've had our fair share of diddies over the years.

The Indonesian league is not all that bad btw.

Some really good African players there and it is quite competitive.

Mrcus Bent thought he would give it a try and found it very tough, said good things about it too.

    RE: The Liam Kelly stuff.

We shouldn't be looking at him, simple as that. He is not good enough. Wouldn't make the bench even if Wanyama left. Decent SPL player is his ceiling by the looks of it. Harkins is a far better player and has been for years.

RE: The Ugandan kid from the Indonesian League.

Wary of taking a punt on someone from that league, though I confess to knowing the square root of * all about it (Ho being probably the only person on this forum who has any knowledge of it). Nevertheless, the track record of our scouting team of late is such that I just don't know. I wouldn't want to completely write the kid off because of the league then see him do well elsewhere. It's a risk, obviously, but given the choice of him or Kelly I'd take the punt on him. We don't know if he's good enough, but we know Kelly isn't.

The football, like most of the football in this region, is played at a far slower pace though due to the oppressive heat.
